The First Skate | Jul 5, 2025

People from outside of Miyagi seem to have been very generous to the ten thousand Sendai residents who had lost at the first lottery, and let them the priority also for the second. I believe that, had there been a Tokyo Dome-like capacity, the numbers would have been much higher, people wouldn't have refrained. Yet this will be a one hour show only, with probably only one program by Yuzuru Hanyu, maybe a participation in a group program and the FInale if there is one?
Oh, I am pretty sure if there were more seats available, even more people would have applied, 100% to that.
As for the contents of the show, I do not think anything was announced yet so we do not really know much apart from the duration.
I would really love it if they did some sort of Bow and Arrow play between Yuzu and Akiko, as they both did skate it individually, both are somehow connected to the Medalist anime (she was the main choreographer for the whole thing, he's believed to have been an inspiration for some of the characters), both worked on their respective choreo, Yuzu consulted Akiko on his version and adjusted his choreo to the movie opening version which was choreographed by her, so it must be matching to certain extent, and so on, and so forth. There are so many meeting points here. Taking into account that both the anime and the song's music video were highly successful and popular, I think it would be a blast if they somehow played into it on the ice. But.... please note, this is my wild fantasy only. :)
Whatever happens we'll see.
Here's Yuzu and Akiko posing together in Inori's opening pose at the backstage of Notte Stellata.

That would be awesome! I'm not expecting it though, because of the complexity of the copyrights matter: Yuzuru Hanyu told us weeks ago that he was working on copyrights to be able to post on his Youtube channel a version of Bow and Arrow with a framing more usual toFigure Skating, and he hasn't been able to do it yet. So, I'm afraid that the time would be too short before July 5th, to get the copyrights for a skated version in The First Skate?

Additional ticket release for The First Skate. First Come First Served, starting from 25 June at 10 AM.
I hope the server will stay strong during the day...

This is great news indeed that they decided to add the standing only tickets to accommodate at least tiny bit more of this huge yet unsatisfied demand, and this is more than welcome. So few of those who tried actually managed to get a ticket, so this is a bit of consolation. Still, no info on how many tickets will be added, and I guess they cannot be many...
Your remarks on servers, so much on point...

There's more of "friends will be friends" vibe!
Over the weekend of the First Skate show, Zuihoden in Sendai will be displaying Tanabata decorations themed on Yuzu’s program costumes: Seimei, Ten to Chi to, Phantom of the Opera and Notte Stellata :)
Those lucky foreigners who managed to get tickets will be lucky enough to be able to see them with their own eyes, too, and they are beautiful!

The First Skate tickets resale has just been announced to start tomorrow, Wed June 25 at 10.00 JST and last until June 29 23;59 JST.
No word yet on the possible livestream! I guess they might say something after the general sale of the added standing tickets is over or well developed. It is to start tomorrow at 10:00, too, but considering the extremely low success rate at the lotteries I honestly don't think it will last too long...

Have all resellers already registered, or do they still have some time to do so? In which case, there might be some odd ticket for sale until 29th?

That was even faster than the most optimistic of us predicted...
I already saw online proposals from fans to celebrate The Second Skate, The Third Skate, The Fourth Skate and...
Sure, with this level of interest they cannot stop on just one show..
I'm really curious how they plan to proceed, they must have something in mind..

Now, the way I understand what the official website says about it, the resale ticket purchase is also by lottery (aha!), with the application period for resale tickets open until June 29 23:59 JST (that's this coming Sunday) and resale result confirmation date by July 2, 15:00 JST. So, it seems, yes, some great tickets might still be up for grabs if some lucky winner is not able to use theirs (which is some really bad luck for them, but might mean great luck for someone else... , strange thing, this luck is).

There will be an open air market next to the Xebio Sendai City Arena with stalls selling local trades and food next to the arena throughout the official opening and the show. Irene Shop will be there too! But, of course!

Yuzuru Hanyu loves when in front of the venues of his shows, there are stalls vending food and others. Irene Shop is for Ice Rink Sendai, I'm sure that he will go on supporting them!
