The Phillies Did It!!!

The Phillies won the National League East!!!!
What an exciting and electirfying thing to be a part of!!! I have no voice left from screaming all day long. The screaming started before the game because the Marlins/Mets game started 25 minutes before the Phillies/Nationals game. Immediately Florida was up 1-0, then quickly up by 4-0 and they beat the Mets.

Way to go Phillies!! I am so happy for them. Becuase lets face it...the Eagles kind of suck right now...the 76ers always stink so we need a good team here in Philly!!

I think the Mets will go down as one of the greatest sports meltdowns in history!! They were 7 games ahead of the Phillies 17 games ago!!!

Congratulations from a rather disgruntled Padres fan....

I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed -- since I moved from San Diego, I wasn't able to follow the whole NL drama that closely, but last time I looked, the Phillies were like 2 1/2 games behind the Padres for the wild card spot, then next thing I know the Phillies got in easily and the Padres are forced into a one-game playoff for the Wild Card spot (which they lost in the 13th inning). Well, I'm glad ONE team, anyway, was able to, so to speak, step up to the plate.

I do hope the Phillies go all the way -- Lord knows I am NOT going to root for Arizona or Colorado under the circumstances (plus they just haven't been around that long anyway; I like my teams to have a little longetivity before they go anywhere) and I've never been wild about the Cubs, so....

JonnyCoop, thanks for the nice words about the Phillies...
I don't think anybody really saw this coming until the last 10 games or maybe less. We hammered the Mets in just about every game we played with them. Nothing sweeter than Pat Burrell stepping up to the plate while Billy Wagner is pitching and Pat hitting one out of the ball park. I liked Wags when he was with us, but then I heard legitimate reports of the crap talk he did about the Phillies WHILE he was still with us and after he went to the Mets.
We couldn't have gotten where we are if other teams, especially the Florida Marlins, hadn't punched the Mets lights out as well.
This, the year we made history with 10,000+ losses, we end up coming from behind and winning the NL East Division!
It really was amazing to be at that game Sunday.

The first game will start in just over 2 hours....I have butterflies!

They went from losing 10,000 games, the only sports franchise in all sports to do this, to winning the division. The game is going to be so exciting today!! I can't wait. Too bad I have to work and can't watch it!
