There were other US Senior Men in that Competition

I went back and watched Scott Smith's LP on icenetwork, and enjoyed it very much. It was also fun to watch how totally thrilled his new coach & he were in the K&C.

I believe the coach in Scott Smith's Kiss & Cry was a standin. His regular coaches (the Boston duo) were with Carriere--their other skater in the final--who was to skate two skates later in the same final group.

According to Nancy Kerrigan's commentary, Scott ditched Mark Mitchell 2 weeks before Nationals and is now coached by a woman whose name I didn't catch, but it sounded sorta like Evelyn Grosscup (sorry I couldn't hear it correctly).

IBraden Overett swashes and buckles across the ice in Pirates of the Caribbean. And I can't help watching Rohene Ward and wishing he could conquer his competition nerves.
The two guys and both so different, who at this stage, I believe will never be on the podium but I hope to see them every year anyway. They are on my Special List of Artists.

Braden will make a good choreographer.

Rohene will make a good show skater.

I'll watch them both any time and always enjoy!!! From the little tidbits we hear here, particularly from Sylvia, my understanding is Rohene choreographs already and he too, perhaps, would make a good one - professionally - some day.

Rohene has started coaching & choreographing and his student, Kirsten Olsen, skated quite well in Junior Ladies.

His club refers to him as 'their choreographer' and that's how Nancy Kerrigan spoke of him during the icenetwork coverage.

I adore Rohene Ward, unfortunately this was not the competition for him :frown: he is amazing in practices but as soon as the competition begins nerves set in and its all over. I pray he continues to compete and hopefully gets over the nerves, people need to be able to see his beautiful programs. I wish him the very best:agree:
I was hoping to be able to see him but no such luck. I, too, wish he could hold it together. I also would like to have seen Derrick Delmore. I always liked his skating.

after all the hype over Overett's pirates... I was a little disappointed *hides from kwanfan*

but then i'm a PotC freak and I just kept saying I want Orlando Bloom to learn to skate and then skate to the music.... I did love his costume and fuzzy pirate face....

Someone said they couldn't wait to see Adam move to seniors. He's very good... but I guess I am just overly biased and can't wait to see Keegan continue in his skating career... 3A3T!!!!!!

He IS a great show skater!!! One of the Best out there. So if you get a chance to see him ... do it!!! :agree:

His up-coming events will be listed on his website at www.roheneward.net so check it out! :)
I've been watching Rohene since 2003 Nationals.

Braden is a concert skater. He will appeal more to the fans of opera and ballet.

Well I hate to sound wishy washy but I like them all. Jeremy does remind me of Matt whom I miss a lot. Fluid and elegant skater he (both of them). Stephen is good all around. Somewhat of a technician and he does remind me of Tim G. Ryan just keeps getting better; so nice to see him developing. Thought he was so much fun when he debuted at Nats at the age of 15 (I think). That smile!!!! Have not seen much of Adam but was sort of hoping he would give Nats Seniors a try this year. He seems to have the whole package. Not at all surprised he won Jrs.

Kwan retires, Sasha retires, Matt retires, no more Angela or Jenny. I'm about to retire as a fan and suddenly Men's Ladies, Dance and even pairs start to look so promising and I'm a fan for another Olympic cycle or two.

:clap::clap::clap::clap:

I don't know about anyone else, but I can't wait for Adam Rippon's move up to Seniors next year. Have a feeling he'll find his way onto the podium-I think he's more impressive than Carriere.

I can't wait either. I am very exited about his skating.
Ryan's skating on the other hand never inspired me.

I also loved Dennis Phan. He did so much better in practice than he did in the competition. I'm just excited that an Asian-American man is such a fine skater! He is so much fun to watch.

If you read Braden's blog, you'll find out that he really hurt his hip in the short with those falls. He was about to withdraw but then got a shot of cortizone--the only reason he could even skate his long.
