Torvill and Dean never cease to amaze me. Christopher Dean seems to have an incredible understanding of so many things--biomechanics, multi-dimensional visual sculptural effect, choreographic fluidity, and more. I'm just not up to listing it all; his work is mind-boggling, setting the standard to which all others must aspire. I'll never forget the delicacy of their dance to Bach's Cello Suite on a Yo-Yo Ma TV arts series; it was so subtle, like the finest lace.

That's a treasure, In my short list of special skaters, T&D are most prominent. That's what I would call artistry.

I still love watching Torvill and Dean. Here in the UK we are lucky as T & D are currently doing their 3rd series of Dancing on Ice, so I get to see them every week. (Its a skating with celebrities show.) I'm going to the tour in May & am looking forward to seeing T & D skate again.
