Nadiia Bashynska posted in her Instagram stories today about wanting a waltz too. I hope the dancers get a waltz next season and get a break from the decades themes.

I like the idea of a variety of ballroom dances, skaters choice, with no repetition allowed during the quad. This year's theme caused the rhythm dance to be extruciatingly repetitious. It had an effect on the free dances as well, as most skaters chose to do something to contrast with the rhythm dance, leading to a dismal sameness there as well.

I didn't really like Lajoie/Lagah's rhythm dance, but at least it was different. Also liked the couple at Canadian Nationals who did Shania Twain!

i hope they don't decide to have a hint of waltz in the thing they call patternered steps and as a theme, i don't know, action movies from the 80s
(although, being silly as i am now i want to see Snake Pliskeen waltzing )
