Utana Yoshida, 吉田 唄菜 , (born September 6, 2003) and Masaya Morita, 森田 真沙也 . (born November 16, 2003) are an ice dance team representing Japan. They teamed up in spring 2023 and are coached by Cathy Reed.

Together, they are the 2026 Olympic silver medalists in the Team Event, the 2024-25 and 2025-26 Japanese Nationals champions and the 2023-24 national bronze medalists. They are also the 2025 Asian Winter Games champions.

With her former skating partner, Shingo Nishiyama, Utana was the 2019-20 & 2020-21 Japan junior national champion. The team placed sixth at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, and placed in first place for Team Courage, which won the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics team event.

With his former skating partner, Nao Kida, Masaya was the 2021-22 and 2022–23 Japan junior national champion and the 2022 Czech JGP bronze medalist. Masaya & Nao competed at the 2022 and 2023 Junior World Championships.

It was a disappointing result, but I don't have time to be depressed, I will try to be stronger and come back next year!
But it was a very enjoyable world debut! 😆



Imo they were undermarked in the RD at Worlds and deserved to advance to the FD. Although it will be difficult to obtain an individual Olympic spot at the qualifying event in Beijing, I'm rooting for them to somehow make it. :pray:

They earned the 6th highest VB, but could not receive enough GOEs and PCS to advance to FD because their skating order was early. JSF should have sent to more CS and Senior B to earn more points before Worlds. I am so frustrated by their bureaucratic stupidity.
