Vacation Planning

So I'm thinking ahead to July, when I hope I can actually take a vacation, and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a nice quiet area to retreat to that has an ice rink nearby with moderate to generous ice availability? I'm thinking someplace on the East Coast. I'm really a book reader for vacation, but I like to get out and skate each day, if at all possible.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be very appreciated.

Anchorage Alaska... there are a number of rinks open during the summer

and it's the hub for all things touristy (3 hours to the Kenai Peninsula for hiking and fishing... and the Seward experience...)

I say forget the East Coast and head North!

I would inquire about the ice rink but it should be available. Nothing is more beautiful than the Adirondacks! Plus, Montreal is so close as well. If you like the outdors with fresh water, upstate NY is the place.

I'd go to Cape Cod and skate in Yarmouth (former home of Nancy Kerrigan and Jenny Kirk).

I'm not sure if the rink at Chelsea Piers in NYC is open all year round or not. Plenty of other things to do though!!
