Good Morning~ I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some reputable ice skate fitters in the countries mentioned in the title
A bit of background about my skating journey, I'm an adult skater and I currently wear Jackson Freestyles in women's size 7.5 which I was suggested by my local Jackson skate distributor Oasis Skating Club (as a fellow member here @Ic3Rabbit has kindly recommended, thank you) in Dubai, UAE. I'm still relatively a beginner, doing two foot/one foot pivot spins, waltz jump, 3 turns, etc. I'm looking for a new pair of skates sometime in the near future, not because it has broken down but because I'm struggling with the fitting of the skate. It helps to mention the skate distributor does not have a professional fitter.
Right from the beginning, I felt the boot was too narrow and initially requested a wide size however was recommended by the skate distrubutor to get a regular width. They're not the worst to skate in, howeverI have trouble lacing them just right due to having pain in my bunion area and arches, and there's a noticable gap on top of my toes. I've been suggested to try using felt tongue pads (haven't tried it yet) and also added a 3mm insole to support my arches better, but the issues still persist, although slightly alleviated by the insoles. I feel a lack of balance and don't feel completely secure in them, so I'm hoping to get properly fitted.
I have also had my skates heat molded professionally, but it made no noticeable difference.
For Edinburgh, it seems there's a shop called "Rink Rats", is it reputable? For UAE, I believe there is still no professional fitter, I've reached out to all suggested skate shops in UAE but to no avail, they are either only distributors or have not replied since I messaged them a couple years ago
.
I would greatly appreciated recommendations for good professional skate fitters in any of these places, as it's easier for me to travel there:
Scotland: Edinburgh/Glasgow
Georgia: Tbilisi, preferably
Uzbekistan: Tashkent, preferably
Malaysia
Singapore
UAE
Bio-data summary:
Gender: Female
Street Shoe Size: EUR 38
Weight: 55-57kg (it varies)
Height: 163cm (5'3")
Currently wearing Jackson Freestyle Women's size 7.5 in regular width
Sorry for the lengthy post, and thank you in advance for any suggestions and help
