What's in your gear bag? (& skate care tips)

Just bought my first pair of skates after a couple months of renting!

Now that I'll need to transport them safely to and from practice and care for them off the ice, I was wondering what your best tips were?

I've read several articles online about boot & blade care, but wanted to see what your best tips & tricks were that I may not have come across.

I'm also not sure what gear I need to buy. It looks like I can use any bag to carry them (I'm thinking I'll use a gym tote). But in terms of new items I need to buy to start, it seems hard blade guards and soft blade "soakers" (I forget what the name is for these) would be a good investment.

So — what's in your gear bag? What should be in a beginner's gear bag? What should that bag be like?

Great question!
So I personally use a Züca bag (basically like an athletic suitcase), and it works super well for everything I carry because it has a very deep inside compartment with side pockets, as well as two outside pockets on both sides- and my TGA bag slips perfectly on the handle of it.
As for things inside my bag-
1. Figure skates
2. Blade guards
3. Soakers
4. Knee high socks (thin ones)
5. Leg warmers
6. Boot cover (for protecting the boot)
7. Gel ankle slips (it protects the ankle bones or other places where the boot rubs against from becoming sore or calloused, and it works like a charm!)l
8. Gloves
9. TGA/Kiss and Cry on ice bag (for a water bottle and tissue box, as well as level book and phone etc.)
10. TISSUES!!

Hey! I have been skating 7+ years now and this is what I always keep in my bag. I have a Zuca bag. Obviously my skates, soakers, towels, and hard guards (I have the Rockerz brand). I also keep chapstick, tissues, EXTRA HAIRTIES, skating socks, bunga pads, and lotion. Hope this helps!
