What's up with Joannie?

I think I remember her landing triple/triple in the warm up of 2007 Nationals, but she didn't go for it in the competition.

You remember correctly. Then, to my astonishment, she didn't try it in the competition. I knew then that Worlds would not be a good thing.

If she doesn't come out with a 3/3 at Skate Canada in the SP, she's in trouble - maybe not at Nationals, but certainly at Worlds.

Kind of on a side note, but does Mira Leung have a 3/3? If so, yes, Joannie will probably need one at Nationals to ensure herself the title, and not barely retain it such as in 2007, where it seemed to be rather close, and Joannie was rather stressed while waiting backstage.

Mira claims to have a 3/3, but when she does her version in competition, the jump(s) have been downgraded due to underrotation.

Yes, chuckm, you are absolutely right. Mira's 3/3 looks more like 2.5/2.5. 120 degree prerotated before take-off and a full stop on landing. She often pushes her blades through to get going on the next element, after landing.

I agree. I worry that this triple/triple business is going to become an unhealhty obsession for her though. She has already shown confidence issues and throw tackling this difficult jump at every competition in and it could really be trouble for her. She has such tremendous potential but i'm worried about her frankly.
