I feel I must get to Russia Olympia! Glinka was such a triumphal composer. I dreamt long ago of seeing St Petersburg and spending a week seeing the Hermitage. If I could have just one Faberge egg! Anyway, I love Copland very much. I am enjoying listening to Firebird which was a ballet I saw when young in Boston. No wonder skaters keep picking these pieces. It is hard to be original.

I think a truly uplifting movie was "Secretariat." I love horses and tried some riding in HS and college. It is truly a sport that takes a lifetime-begin young-because the fear is not there when you take a jump. I simply was so thin I had no strength, but anyone who has missed this movie starring John Malkovich and Diane lane has missed a great movie. It didn't get an Oscar nod which annoyed me no end. True stories make the best movies. Very uplifting, and no doubt Johar has seen it.

Horses and music...someone likely has written a wonderful piece. I wish I could see "National Velvet" again. Maybe Netflix has these classics.

The Belmont Stakes is Saturday, June 9, three weeks after the Preakness. Would love to see a Triple Crown winner!

Skateluvr, we loved Secretariat, too (along with Seabiscuit). When we watched it the second time, we listened to all the commentary.

This thread has sort of become a second music thread, but hoping that this will help Johar!

I send a big THANKS and HUGS to the people on this board. I haven't been back here lately because so much is going on. I moved out to our cottage for the summer and have company up. You people rock. I have been better but take things one day at a time. Sometimes a good walk in the woods or the beach helps tenfold.
