I'm sorry to hear about that, and I'll keep you in my prayers.

By the way, I saw this story the other day, and ever since it has been in my thoughts, something I'll never forget, truly inspirational and joyous, I hope you find it so as well: http://news.yahoo.com/texas-teen-ben-breedlove-posted-powerful-videos-christmas-195055038.html (btw I watched the video before I read the story)

And like I said, I truly wish good health & cheer for ALL, not just the skaters. :)

Peace...

Caroline Zhang to place top 5 at her Nationals and Mirai making the World team.

Dai to take it easy and not compete at 4CC and focus on Worlds.

The Men to WOW us at Worlds. So many great programs this season worthy of medaling.

Wishing all of the skaters good health and luck as the second part of their season begins!

Thanks for joining us, Irishflip. Welcome aboard. Post often, post long!

(But as for me, I just wish that Patrick and Daisuke both stay on their feet, and may the best man win. Go-o-o Kevin Van der Perren! )

Mirai and Alissa make the world team, do well at worlds, even medal

Jeremy wins nationals, medals at worlds.

Patrick and Daisuke skate wonderfully at worlds and as MM said, may the best man win.

I have other hopes too, for example for Mao and Akiko, but if I go on and on my hopes start to contradict each other as there are only three spots on the podium in each comp ... so I can only hope my faves do their best and the chips will fall where they fall.

Now for my own personal figure skating wish. *evil smile* (;^) I want ice dance totally eliminated, which goes waaaaaaaaaaaaay back, as far back as Adrian Chew's old board in the late 1990's. I've never considered it a sport, no matter how hard proponents of it have tried to justify its existence. It doesn't fool me. Sure there were routines I liked and enjoyed, but as a whole I've never liked ice dance nor considered it a true sport. And I will never pay good $$$ to see it, nor have I.

Here's hoping more & more cuts are going to continue when it comes to this discipline. I already note that compulsories have been cut, and they are not usually shown on t.v.. Also, they are (rightfully so) the first ones to get eliminated when it comes to television time constraints.

May these changes continue, that's my own personal figure skating wish. Let the money go to those two long-standing disciplines that actually deserve it ~ singles & pairs.

Hmmm, Nadine, I can see why you might hate ice dance in the era of dying on ice, the cheating judges giving medals to Russian/Europeans over say Bourne and Kraatz. But ice dance is so much better since the Canton crew climbed to the top. I think ice dance is a sport and a difficult one. Also, we see pure skating mostly only in icedance as the others are busy planning every move with CoP difficulty. I admist I used to skip a lot of ice dance and pay attention to only top 5 teams, so I'm no hardcore ice dance fan. Poor Doris, you* can't* wish her favorite skating away, LOL!
