World Team Challenge on Oxygen

Wish we could , but we don't have Oxygen Channel. I'm hoping that a friend will record it for us!

Could you imagine that guy under CoP? He would be posting scores through the roof to this day! He amazes me more and more every time I watch him

COP was absolutely MADE for a skater like Browning. He would have excelled even more than he did do. But aside from that, I saw this on TSN (Canadian sports channel) last weekend and really enjoyed it. Loved B/S and S/P particularly and it just made me realize how very, very much I miss seeing them in pairs. Loved S/Ps program here choreographed by Christopher Dean - so clever and fun.

I enjoyed this program completely. Well, I really enjoyed the pairs. All 4 of them. And, of course, Kurt. Alexei's first number was wonderful. I don't care for the second number, but that's cool.

The ladies left me a little meh except for Caryn Kadafy whom I've always enjoyed watching.

Kurt was AMAZING! What a performer - I love this guy. Unfortunately, missed Alexei's first number 'Overcome' and was only able to get to a TV in time to see 'Sway.' Really enjoyed B&S's 'Chaplin' number!

I saw this on Saturday night. Great show -- it's the closest thing that we have to the old "Landover" World Professional F.S. Championships. Remember those? I live in DC and always looked forward to them in early December. They were part of my pre-holiday ritual. Alas, no more.

My favorite skates at the OXYGEN show -

Sale/Peletier's dancey 'Elite Syncopations' - a masterpiece!!!!

Jen Robinson's groovy 60s medley, so smooth & musical. Not a masterpiece but the best among a relatively-blah set of female skates.

Kurt's first program (forgot title) - absolute Gene Kelley on ice. My husband, who normally doesn't watch figure skating, happened in on this & just stood mesmerized, watching Kurt. I also love Kurt's Clown program but we've seen that one before.

Ina/Zimmerman's first program - so full of energy. They wuz robbed!!!

Yagudin...I don't know. His 2nd program appeared to border on tasteless pandering. At least Candeloro was SO tasteless when he did this sort of thing, that he was hilarious; watching Yags do this is kinda sad. Ditto Maria Butyrskaya's cheesy striptease...yuk.

I caught the show yesterday afternoon and now I finally know why current Men's skating leaves me so cold... I so miss the days of the "manly men" of skaters... Alexi... bold & beautiful... Kurt... simply awesome.... This current crop of skaters look more like peacocks than hunter gathers.... those were the good ol' days...:ohwell:

   What a photo, mathman! Poor Urmanov. It's no wonder that Uncle Dickie went on & on about his costumes. Thank goodness that Urmanov isn't wearing this in his current guise as Caller!

Yags was channeling Candeloro in his second performance. The poor U.S.A. had to drag Karen Kadavy out for it's female skater.I like Karen but don't we have anyone who is a little more competitive?

With all due respect to Nicole Bobek (whom I still like artistically), I'd rather see Caryn Kadavy represent the US in the WTC & other pro competitions (not that there are many left - I guess we only have "Ice Wars" & the WTC at this point).

I was very annoyed with Jamie Salle's dancing during the first warmup. I nominate her for the worst sportsman in the history of skating.

I think you need a little bit more than some bad dancing for that award. If you have to make umbrella statements like this, please back it up.

Jamie's cool, but David has to be the worst dancer on skates, LOL. Don't be so stiff, David -- get some hip into it, LOL.

MM :)

What on earth was the matter with Jamie dancing? The audience was getting into the fun of it too. Elena looked like she was having a good laugh as well. It's a fun competition, not the Olympics.
