Yuna Kim

I was the chair umpire in both of her matches. Michelle won that match 11-7 (shortened match).

^ Thanks for the post, KevB! If you had any interactions with Yuna or Michelle, we would love to hear all the details. (Also on the Michelle Kwan fan fest thread in this folder. ;) )

Yuna was pretty quiet throughout the whole event. The Korean girl she played with took a selfie with her and was having a convo with her during some of the photos you have seen online. Neither knew any of the rules at all and I tried my best to coach them along the way. Michelle was real nice but was not dressed to play. She was in a dress as seen in the photos and did a tennis serve to start (if you haven't played badminton, you are supposed to do underhand or backhand serve). I had to try to explain the rules as the match progressed in as short of a time possible (since there were other matches.

Off court, Michelle was much more approachable, was very kind and took photos with everyone. She was with her husband and Joe Jonas. Yuna was quiet and her agent or whoever was with her was in charge of when people could take photos. Of course a lot more people were swarming Yuna. The TV cameras were around her like hawks on a prey (I was getting pushed out of way when marching on). I'm surprised I haven't been able to find more footage.

Yuna's moonlight sonata

What a fabulous step sequence besides that famous lay-back spin. Notice her twizzles (the changes of her upper body/arm/free leg along with twizzle 3turn twizzle change)
Here is a fancam step sequence perhaps from another day different from the above broadcast version

she even changed her upper body and free leg and arm movement in her long twizzle sequence(different days for the same show). It genuinely reflected some mechanic ideas of ballet turns.
Then I found another lovely piece of interpretation of Moonlight Sonata by Haejin

I am new here, but I am enjoying the very interesting and informative posts that I have seen. Thanks, KevB, for such a great post. I was wondering about the badminton experience. Both Michelle and Yuna are great champions and are involved in humanitarian efforts. I love and respect that about them.

It's interesting to read first hand information about the ways they handle publicity. :)

^^ Yeah. I have no idea about singing.but I think Yuna has a very good resonance somewhere.
she does not do exaggerated gesture or mouth movement like many wannabe amateurs or pros.
But her volume is loud and tone is very harmonious.

Everyone has "resonance" when they sing but if you want to talk about true resonance in singing no Yuna does not have any, she's got a pleasant voice and she's stable, for someone untrained she's quite nice.

An entire half hour of Yuna on TV is something I didn't think would happen in a while, it's so nice to see her on stage, her outfits are so nice as usual and what I would give to have her legs:love:

I need to go find that entire concert now, I see Lee Sun Hee and Kim Tae Woo there, they're some of my favourite Korean singers too

@Korean posters: Could someone of you give us a brief translation of this? I was surprised to see Yuna and Mrs. Park in one Picture.
