Yuna Kim

Thanks very much for sharing! I love this new commercial. It's cool to see her doing different sports/activities. Random thought: Lululemon or Athletica should hire her as a model if they want to expand into the South Korea market. They'd make a killing!

Any company that wants to do well in SK should hire Yuna as a model :luv17:

Can anyone here let me know know which recording of Danse Macabre Yuna used for her 2009 program? I would really appreciate it, thanks!

I think Yuna already promotes Prospecs, which is a Korean activewear brand, all of the skaters at All That Skate were dressed in Prospecs during the rehearsals, I remember she did some events for them but I'm not sure if she is still signed with them

Just rewatched Yuna's Giselle. Didn't know why I didn't appreciate it as much before...it's such an intricately crafted story. She is so musical. Even thought she made mistakes in both the sp and fs, I think Yuna's 2011 programs were the most special and entertaining to me. She seemed to have matured beyond playing one-dimensional characters (albeit she played them very, very well, ala James Bond) and started constructing stories on ice. So brilliant.

Glad to know that you appreciate her Giselle more! I think she perfectly encapsulated the manic aura of the music. There's a sense of rawness in the program that always rivets me when I watch it, yet at the same time everything feels so precise and on-point.

As much as I love her Giselle and Homage to Korea program, I just can't watch her Worlds version without thinking what KSU did to her during that time period, and the way she was treated by them :(

explain?

yeah, whenever i watch any of her post-2010 programs, i think about how much pain she's in and how she probably didn't want to be there :(

The thing about Giselle I love is that the step sequence, the way she moves her upper body is a fantastic example of how a skater uses their body lines to tell a story. The final pose is just perfect.

I watched Giselle and Homage again because you guys are talking about Giselle. These are the programs that I wish Yuna had performed more than once in her career. Especially Homage. My favorite part is this one. She just flows with the music, from her arms down to her fingertips.

I agree, you really see how special this music is to her. Great performance. And it's probably my favourite dress.

Agreed, love the dress. I'm starting to learn sewing so I might create something inspired by her Giselle dress ^.^ I'll post it if I do.
