Yuna Kim

A funny and very Yuna-like moment in the lighting ceremony :D

And Yuna in evening wear at the 100-D PyeongChang Omega Gala! She really blessed us with two stunning looks in one day ❤❤❤

I was listening to Kurt Browning on IceTalk and he praised the strict tech panel at Skate Canada, saying he hopes it's a new trend because the standard in ladies jump has been set too low (I'm paraphrasing he was more PC). He added that he misses Yuna, her clean jumping technique with beautiful flow in and out. I couldn't agree more with him

I know a lot of commentators hyped her up when she was still competing but Kurt's appreciation for Yuna is by far the most genuine. Maybe it's because he was closer to her/had a better understanding of her circumstances but Kurt's thoughts on her skating and influence on the sport have always been consistent and thoughtful. It was always nice to see among all the pandering (that came and went lol).

Is Yuna going to light up the Olympic torch on the opening ceremony ? I would choose her to do it if it hasn't been decided yet... she's an icon in Korea.

Thank you for updating on Yuna's latest!

Please, does anyone know whether she'll be skating as part of the opening ceremony or the exhibition gala (or some other event) in the Pyeongchang Olympics? I am dying to see her on ice again...

Maybe! If the person who torch on the opening ceremony isn't Yuna, that is a bigger surprise than she does.

I think I'll cry, if she skates once again, especially at the Olympics. She can only do a bunch of crossovers and I'd be happy. I fell in love with skating because of Yuna and I will always have a special attachment to her.

JFC MY WIG IS SNATCHED. Goddess.:drama::dbana: The fashion sense, her makeup, everything AHHHH.

Yuna's Nessa Dorma is still my favorite Turandot even after the Turandot overload this season. The way she hits those musical points especially in the beginning is like no other unlike some other routines where they are setting up for their first jump. Ughh, I love her.

Same. SLAY QUEEN THROUGH AND THROUGH!
My biggest wish right now is that she skates in the Gala. Her skating is too beautiful and I miss her on the ice.

On a different note, does anyone know how to give Yuna a gift? I hope I can give it to in person but if not, where do I send it? :)))

I really don't like TSL (Jenny is my fav of the bunch but left), every time I watch them, they will just have to randomly mention Yuna and bash her casually to push my buttons.
They mentioned Yuna's jump technique, but they bash Yuna on everything else. Sometime so unnecessary, ignorant and even felt troll-like. I actually felt sorry for them.
Anyways, not only Yuna, I disagree with their opinions quit often.
And they usually do not generate analysis on facts or real in-depth research or journalism, Many of their info are so wrong and narrow-minded, because they just don't care.

If there are other similar type of skating show, I will drop them without blink an eye.

Lastly, to only praise Yuna's jump is just another way of blindness and despise. it has been used during Yuna's whole career to bash her by haters. Nothing new.

From what I've watched of TSL, they had only good things to say about Yuna. And they are fun.

Anyway, I heard from my friend working at The Korea Society in NYC that Yuna is coming to their event warming up for the Olympics as a speaker or ambassador or sth.

Well, personally I love to watch TSL- sometimes I agree with them, sometimes I don't. And of course, you can't dispute yuna's technique and they respect her abilties overall too. Anyways, I digress...

Well, just this season, I followed TSL's GP recap. Yuna has already retired, Yet once and over again, they drag Yuna out and bash her (with baseless claims), a few times, I was so furious, even shout out loud in front of my computers.

True Yuna fans, or any other skater's true fans will feel right away what is sincere appreciation what is not.

Anyway, enough rant about TSL.

Just wanna say that, nowadays, many of true Yuna fans myself include do not post about Yuna on this board or elsewhere as often, since Yuna is retired, and Yuna fans and figure skating fans may wanna post stuff regarding figure skating about current skaters, they may seems to have new favorite. But that does not mean Yuna has been forgotten.
On the other hand, Yuna always will be my favorite skater of all time. For me, I may not post about her or even mention her anymore, but she will always hold the highest position in terms of figure skating in my heart.

I think it is same to many other fans too, Yuna has influenced a generation of skaters and figure skating fans. And that influence is so deep you may not even aware.

I agree; that made me tear up almost. Some of her programs are so utterly unfortgettable and rewatching them for the n-th time is still a new and refreshing experience. Specifically her Bond, El Tango de Roxanne, Dance Macabre, Vampire's Kiss and Les Mis sends shivers down my spine no matter how many times I rewatch it.

I feel the same. Yuna is unforgettable. Sometimes I don't watch her programs for a month or two (like especially now there is so much skating going on that I don't have the time), and then I go on YouTube and watch her videos for a few hours straight and I fall in love with her all over again.

I love that she is absolutely EVERYWHERE for the next games, especially in Korea. Please let her light the flame at the opening, and present ALL the figure skating medals. Honestly, QUEEN YUNA is the ONLY acceptable option for all of this.

Who's Adelina? ;)
