Yuna Kim

She is more than popular. A 救國英雄 many times.

I finally saw the HD version of the ceremony where Yuna's was visibly moved/tearing up while lighting up the cauldron. What a culmination of the journey she has had. What an enormous privilege to have been a witness to see her life fulfilment beyond her potentials, beyond medals.

There are gold medalists and lucky winners overtime in any profession/sport/industry, but it what do they with that power, prestige, honour and privilege really defines their character and gives perspective on life. How they make a difference to others. When you see the rare exceptional ones such as she, who some how ends up selflessly devote herself to the next generation, for her country and impart with what she can. She was an integral movement bringing the Olympic movement home, and both Korea stand united in the end. Amazing. I think or hope she will continue to inspire others to become a better version of themselves. An exceptional individual that can break down barriers beyond borders, cultures, languages and yet so young. I hope others will eventually realise that, beyond the sport. She is pure gold.

Yuna is 27. Wish her happiness and blessed luck find her next life long dream/goals/adventures whatever that may be, perhaps be a little more selfish, live a bit more for herself, away from expectations and prying eyes of others/media/fans. She truly deserves all the good things in life.

Soo beautiful, your post made me tear up. Our Yuna all grown up :sad21:
I really wonder what some of her goals/dreams are now that her Olympic dream is a reality.

I'm still looking for any Yuna footage from the ladies SP. For some reason saying this in a separate post was removed. :scratch2::disagree:

Some posts are removed because they quote other posts that are removed.

It is better to report than to respond for future reference.

Yuna's the twitter cover photo for ISU, so I guess she's their cover girl again after daring not to participate in their precious grand prix events and getting "dethroned" for not bringing them enough money. :)

Remember when the ISU almost sanctioned the Korean skating federation because Kim refused to go to the 2010 Four Continents in South Korea right before the Olympics? lmao

Yuna should've just not done anything that season and gone on and won the Olympics anyway.

I know that wouldn't have happened (again, ISUxmoney), but if she hadn't won with the skates she did end up producing, then it would've created a backlash of Sochi proportions again.
