I understand how disappoint this must be for them, but Israel is hardly unique in this regard. Great Britain also has fairly strict rules in place as to whom they send to the Olympics; I rememebr all the bru-ha-ha 4 years ago when they didn't want to send Humphreys & Baranov who were eligible to go under ISU rules.

shortly after the europeans, Boris Chait made an announcement that Zaretskys are going based on their performance. I read this in Jpost.

what I find strange is that Israel holds it's championships rather late in the season so say there's an upset at this year nationals, and since the Nationals take place after the Olympics, the silver medalists in dance wouldn't go to the Olympics since the silver medalists from the Previous season were sent to Euros to qualify. Of course that is a strictly hypothetical situation since Israel has only 2 top senior teams now. But say were to happen?
