So nice to read a veteran write, the Top Picks are...

Hanyu, Uno, Jin
Medvedeva, Osmond, Daleman
Cong / Han, Savchenko / Massot, Tarasova / Morozov
Virtue / Moir, Papadakis / Cizeron, Shibutanis"

Life is good!

Literally just the rankings after WC 2017?

I'm actually hoping she doesn't get the host pick. . .

Despite the assertions of some that she only skates well at home, I haven't observed that she's done her best at SCI....

Her best showings have been at the GPs that are further afield, especially Rostelecom. [Now, I don't expect Rostelecom to be inviting her next season though. But it could happen....]

But I can't see why Gabby would want to go to Skate America either. It's later in the season this time, but the outcomes from the past few years don't seem to reflect the relative placements that we see later. However, as the bronze medallist she and the USFSA will likely be obliged to put her in that event when Evgenia and Kaetlyn choose the others.

Basically, Kaetlyn and Gabby, like Evgenia will be able to take their choice of GPs in order of their rankings. Can't see Evgenia coming to SCI this year, so it Skate Canada will need to sort out between Kaetlyn and Gabby....

Making Alaine skate against one of them, if she can do to GPs elsewhere would something to give a lot of second thought to.....

But there will be 3 ladies at SC and who else is there to send besides Alaine. I can't see them sending two lower ranked skaters to the same event. And if Alaine doesn't get SC she may end up with only 1 GP event cause that is all she is assured of.

^^ Best be careful 4everchan, rum bottle being thrown your way. Duck! Given SarahSynchro's eye for precision, just sayin'. Hard to play the woodwinds with a fat lip, me thinks.

That's right! I guess you could say the synchronization of my perfect ability to hit someone precisely in the eye when throwing a projectile at them for trying to steal MY man is second to none.

Puns are so punny.

When the ISU World Rankings are scrubbed of the 13-14 data and the 14-15 data is reduced to 70%, Alaine will be 28th on the WR list, and she is 29th on the SB list. That is not to say no host would invite her, but she has no automatic GP guarantee.

Skate Canada almost ALWAYS invites the National Champion.. Kaetlyn is going.... which means that Gabby is going somewhere else.

They will invite Alaine. We will see what they do with Larkyn or Veronik or whomever earns the last TBD "host pick" spot.

Kaetlyn was working on her new short program today.
Hopefully it's as good a vehicle for her as the Piaf medley was this season.

Lance Vipond is doing the choreography for Kaetlyn's SP again. I think it'll be great. If not, she has the Piaf program to fall back on. Which is not bad at all.

I was just remembering that early in the season before the GPs had begun we were discussing who'd be the first to go over 70 points in the SP, 130 points in the FS, and maybe, if everything worked out, 200 points overall. Crazy to think that two of our ladies would manage these things this very season. And Alaine came close to breaking 130 as well.

Canadian ladies

CBC published a great article written by Eric Radford on his experience at Worlds: http://www.cbc.ca/playersvoice/entry/skating-worlds-left-eric-radford-weakened-not-broken

While Eric heals, Meagan is hard at work: https://www.instagram.com/p/BSyZm18B1q8/

CBC also shared an AP article on Mao's retirement. Mao had a special connection with Canada...she won Olympic silver in Vancouver and was a goodwill ambassador to Canada along with her sister.

Kaitlyn turned 28 yesterday and she's looking great: https://www.instagram.com/p/BSzkdVbArYS/

ETA: Whoops I saw someone started a thread with Eric's article. Sorry I missed that initially.

In the continuing pairs merry-go-round for World Team Trophy Kirsten Moore-Towers & Michael Marinaro replace Julianne SĂ©guin & Charlie Bilodeau. The ISU posted a Team Canada photoset today: https://www.instagram.com/p/BS0h1Rng5kJ/

After the PDF of ISU's allotment of Challenger Series events was published Skate Canada updated their press release from February 13 to announce that Autumn Classic with now be a week earlier, September 20-23.

Here's the official website: https://skatecanada.ca/event/2017-autumn-classic-international/

In the future I think they need to be more cautious about announcing events before they are confirmed by the ISU because some people actually planned to attend and now are inconvenienced in changing vacation time, travel, etc.

Keegan Messing got free program choreo from Lance Vipond in Paris, ON: https://www.facebook.com/lancevipondchoreography/posts/909523682523379

now about MTM 2.0... I am okay with that but you know... why not I/M? they did so well at worlds?

do you guys realize we are sending our pair #4 to this event? I am okay with MTM 2.0... I think they have my favourite LP from Canadian pairs this year (sorry I/M i love the look of yours but the music... :curse: )

I hope that it doesn't kill the momentum... If Canada doesn't do 1st or close enough to 1st in WTT... should we worry about OGM team event? Different format so perhaps not... but being on top could help with the momentum...

Regarding Skate Canada, someone should write to them about changing dates but they will say they were not confirmed yet by ISU.... I can imagine that themselves had booked the arena and now had to scramble to change the booking... GOSH!!! is it still in PIERREFONDS!!! Don't scare me!!! (it is i checked)
