I heard about that a couple days ago. It is sad, but thank the Lord she survived.
Our pets are just as much members of our families as the people. We love and care for them, whether they are fur people or scale people or feather people, etc.
The author is right -- much of the anguish will come from those pets left behind. Maybe too much for some hearts to take.
The rest of us can help a bit by supporting the various spca organizations and kennels and rescue groups for animals.
