I really love Michelle Kwan's Tosca LP from the 2004 Nationals! So emotional, dramatic and magical! I love the charisma of Michelle Kwan and how her presence on the ice creates the feeling of euphoria!

Listing over 20 seems to depreciate the meaning of "the greatest." There have been many great skates, but the greatest (for me, at least) have been these three:

Michelle's Lyra Angelica 1998 Nationals
Janet Lynn's Afternoon of a Faun 1970 Nationals
Chen Lu's Rach 1996 Worlds

The first two were true milestones in ladies figure skating.

With 2 triple axles and passionate steps, I believe this FS should be considered to be one of the true masterpieces in the history of women's figure skating.

Totally underrated by the judge!!

I agree. She Delivered that to all of it's potential and was so passionate and the jumps were great and it all came together! But there was downgrade unfortunate and that was too bad because I thought it was a perfect piece of skating and made me a big big fan of Mao Asada. I was neutral the WHOLE season and neutral at the Olympics but then that happened and I am just a big Mao fan.

Arguably 3 of the best skates ever! Michelle for me gave the greatest performance ever! Janet also had this euphoric presence to her skater ( I am somewhat religious and I feel God's love and pure joy when she skates). She really skates from her soul! Chen Lu gave us a true masterpiece with her 96 Worlds LP! It was something to really behold and one of the great moments of skating. It was an artistic milestone and one of the few who could really skate from the soul and give justice to the genius that is Rachmaninoff. These 3 ladies belong to the greatest ladies for me in Figure skating!

Excellent choices. Though personally, I would also add Michelle Kwan's Salome from 1996 Worlds to the list. Even without the context of that season (i.e. Michelle's transformation from girl to Woman/temptress), it's one of the few programs to leave me utterly speechless upon first viewing. Daring concept, creative and thoughtful choreography that used the nuances of the music superbly, wonderful performance.

I'm surprise that no one mention Ito's 1990 world performance. For me this is one of the greatest FS in ladies figure skating history; both in technical and performance.

This is like standing in a treasure cave. I wish I could stay home from work and watch these one by one...and then watch them all again.

I allowed myself just one, YuNa's Olympic long program. I haven't been able to watch it since the night. Wow, wow, wow. And not only was she spectactular, she seemed so calm. This girl was born to skate. By the way, notice that she did not just a double axel but a double axel-triple jump combination after a spreadeagle.

Man, this is a great list!

My list includes pretty much all of her Michelle's freeskates.
Definitely Lyra Angelica and Salome.
Also Lu Chen's Butterfly Lovers LP. :)
