Whoa! 47 entries in Junior Ladies???!!! :jaw:

In the Junior Ladies Free Skate on at the moment at the Denkova-Staviski Cup, there are 24 entries, and it will last roughly 5 hours.

So, if the Volvo Open has double that number of entries, if they all go through to the FS, that will be a 10 hour Free Skate!!!

How on Earth are the judges and the technical panel meant to keep their concentration for that long?! :drama:

Somehow I think I will be giving that competition a miss if there is a livestream. Even though Kloe Rozgonyi from CBBC documentary series "Ice Stars" is entered. (Interesting that she is representing Great Britain rather than Hungary. I was not expecting that!)

Incidentally, her partner in crime (and fellow participant in "Ice Stars"), Josh Brown, is also going to Riga, competing in Junior Men.

Speaking of partners in crime, I see Liza Tuktamysheva's very close friend, Sindra Kriisa of Estonia, is competing here in Senior Ladies.

Although, I have to admit that after seeing that the Sforza siblings are competing in Senior Ice Dance, I was rather disappointed that Leo-Luca's fiancée, Nikol Gosviani, is not competing as well.

All the best to everybody

I see Dmitriev is going instead of Petrov now. Interesting.
They were both listed on the entries list as of 1st Nov. Petrov's name was taken off only yesterday. It makes no sense to do Volvo Open when he just arrived back in St Petesrburg from SC.

I know everyone is more interested in COC right now, myself included, but I just saw this cute short video from the junior ladies' podium. :laugh2: And a huge congratulations to Diana for running away with the gold and a score of 170.28! That's a great score for her! Nice to see Kim Cheremsky medaled as well.

It's the warmup for the final group of senior men now... Dmitriev goes first... stream: http://www.istream.ee/tv/

If he's able to show consistency with this tech content I wonder if he'll get a Euros or Worlds spot... and I wonder who he would replace.

Lol, all this upset nowadays on selfie business...

Artur doing well in the shadow of the Grand Prix competitions :clapper: Proud father watching from China? - or not - maybe sleeping and dreaming? Personal best again: 251.44

I guess it will depend how the other guys do in the GP and at Nationals. It's pretty incredible that he has the highest SB of any of the Russian guys so far...he would have been the last one I'd expect. But if he keeps up the momentum, then he definitely deserves to go to Euros (I'd probably send him over Pitkeev at this point, though I think Pitkeev has more longterm potential). Of course, it's different to perform well at little senior Bs vs. the more high-pressure competitions, so Nationals will be key for him to prove himself to the Russian fed.
