The Short Dance is due to start now. But, I will not be able to watch any more skating LIVE for the rest of the event, because the first round of the 2021 MotoGP season is this weekend, with Free Practice 1 starting in an hour from now!!!

Also, can anyone explain the Olympic qualifying system for ice dancing this cycle ? What place does a couple have to achieve to earn a spot?

There is a quota of 19 places here + 4 at Nebelhorn.
But quite a few countries have multiple spots, FSR USA CAN for example so it will really be quite a battle.

According to SBS Man Mark II all four teams today are debuting at Worlds. Good luck to them!

Except I'm somewhat puzzled by the group's, how are Kaitlyn and Jean Luc on Group 5? And Ivan and Sasha Stepanova only in Group 6 out of 7?

Super happy Charlene and Marco are in the final flight though!

I think it is because it was a virtual draw based on 2019 or 2020 somehow

I thought that too - I’m gutted Stepanova/Bukin aren’t in the final flight. Was it a random draw? BESP uncles said something about a draw and that good skaters were dotted about.
