2022 Edusport Trophy

The 2022 Edusport Trophy will take place Jan 12-15, 2023, in Bucharest, Romania, at the Allianz-Tiriac arena. This international event will feature the singles discipline (Women and Men) in the Novice, Junior and Senior categories.

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the 2022 Special Regulations and Technical Rules for Single Skating, as well as all relevant ISU Communications.

You know, when I posted the result page, I thought "CaroLiza will be interested in the interclub too as she always post them. Better add it not to waste her time searching for it".....looks like I wasn't successful! Destiny is that you will have to always take care of Intercubs.

The irony is, the reason I have tended to take an interest in the Interclub competitions is because of the country Fan Fest I run. Over the years, there were lots of kiddies from Cyprus coming through the younger levels. And I wanted to see who might be the next skater to keep an eye on. But, there isn't a lot now. In fact, there have only been 2 skaters altogether competing this season.

By the way, I'm a "he". My username sounds female because it is a reference to my 2 favourite Ladies skaters - Carolina Kostner and Liza Tuktamysheva.

Since the Zamboni is on the ice, I'll do a post to talk about the livestream before I put up the reminder post for the first segment.

Unfortunately, the stream is buffering at regular 5 second intervals. My computer is normally rather slow on it when it is switched on for the first time in the morning, so the problem may be at my end. But, it may be the stream itself. I just don't know.

Either way, if it doesn't start behaving by the time the skaters get on the ice, it is going to be unwatchable.

EDIT: I re-opened the stream at the end of the Warm-Up, and it seems to be behaving itself now.

EDIT 2: I spoke too soon. When the first skater started skating, it started buffering every 5 seconds again. ​

My goodness, that was a quick turnaround. The Zamboni was barely more than off the ice when the first group of skaters were called to start their Warm-Up!

Day 1 of the EDU Sport Trophy is starting now with all 3 Chicks competitions. 7 Chicks I girls; followed by 1 Chicks boy; followed by 6 Chicks II girls.

As the Time Schedule links are taking us to 404 error pages, I don't know when there will be gaps between segments So, for the moment, the plan is for this post to just be for the first segment, and then have a second post for the next 2 segments.

Mmmm. There is currently a long break in proceedings, so I take it that skater #2, the first of the Bulgarian skaters, has withdrawn.

I don't think it's technical problems, because the scores for the Ukrainian skater that kicked the day off have been up on the livescoring page for a long time.

OK, I don't know what's going on. The scores for the second skater have just come up on the livescoring page, but there is still a skater warming up on the ice.

Is the stream stuck on a loop?

Yes, it is. Because the skater keeps doing the same spin. I didn't realise until there now because she starts at the boards, does the spin, and then returns to the boards.

Right, the scores for skater #1 have finally been announced, and skater #2 has been introduced. So, the loop has now been broken.

Meanwhile the scores for skater #3 have already been up on the livescoring page for a while.

So, the stream must be about 10 minutes behind the livescoring page.

I really hope they get things sorted out and back into sync during the first resurfacing. Otherwise it is going to be a very trying day for us attempting to follow what is happening.

As I suspected, they are doing a combined Warm-Up rather than having the boy out on his own.

I know I normally make a point of not naming skaters from levels below Advanced Novice, but I wonder if the boy is the little brother of Vayana and Chiara Hristova. (I should add that I don't know if they have a brother).

Incidentally, I just spotted that neither of the Hristova sisters are here. I am nearly sure they were both on the Provisional Entry Lists when I looked at them. That said, I might be getting mixed up with next week's event, Skate Helena, as they are both currently on the entry lists there.

By the way, according to the livescoring page, both he and the first two Chicks II girls have already finished their programmes.

From a Chicks triple-bill, we move to a Cubs triple-bill. But, this time we start with the Men's competition, and then move onto the two Ladies competitions. And, in a nice change, we actually have 4 boys.

Awww, that was so cute. The first of the Chicks II girls finished ahead of her music, so she did a few extra finishing poses to fill in the time!

That just shows you how far behind the stream is. The first Chicks II girl was starting her programme on the stream at the time that the Cubs boys were already doing their Warm-Up.

The last of the boys has just finished on the stream, so I have my fingers crossed that they will cut out the resurfacing and jump straight to the start of the girls, so that we are only 15 minutes behind rather than the roughly 30(?) minutes behind that we currently are.

Nope, looks like the stream isn't going to jump forward. We are going to remain half a day behind.

So, I am going to try re-starting the computer to see if that stops the buffering.
