Unpopular opinion: I want Alice back. This new program is just depressing.

It is a new costume though, just looks very similar to the SP one.

Drat! Missed wishing all the best to my fellow Ulsterman, Sam McAllister. :bang:

Oh, well. That's what happens when the Time Schedule isn't working, and you get engrossed in an exciting final race of the British Superbike Championship.

Well, we got very good results for the Northern Irish riders in Brands Hatch, so I hope we got a good result in Dundee with Sam too.

Day 3 of the Tayside Trophy is starting now with the various Level 1 and Level 2 Ladies FS competitions.

Because there are a LOT of competitions to get through over the next few days, and I will be doing other things, I am going to take a different approach to my reminder posts. Generally speaking, I will just be posting reminders at the start of each streaming session. But, I may do some separate reminder posts for the Junior and Senior competitions.

Quite interesting competition for Polish skaters - actually, for Polish skaters who have been training in Axel Torun under Dorota Zagorska-Siudek and Mariusz Siudek (still the best Polish pair skaters as they haven't successors so far...).

Kornel Witkowski competed in seniors with his older brother Miłosz (who is a born entertainer) and surprisingly there was almost a draw between them. Hope Kornel heals his injuries and comes back in better shape in near future.

Ryszard Siudek (son of Dorota and Mariusz) competed in novices and it was probably his first international competition. He's 11 or 12 and he's been the best skater in his categories in Poland so far. Great he could experience a real competition of skaters having better skating skills and more advanced technically. This can make him and his parents aware what they need to work on. The same goes to the Rejment sisters, who competed in seniors (Agnieszka) and juniors (Alicja).

He was at this event last year as well, winning the Bronze Medal in the Advanced Novice competition. OK, so there were only 3 taking part, but a medal's a medal!

I remember it well, because he had a disappointing Free Skate. And he was so upset that he was bawling his eyes out even before he finished skating. But when they were waiting for his scores, his Dad just sat there, not even attempting to console him. And I remember thinking "I hope his Mum is there, as this kid needs some support".

I hope he was happier with how he got on this year.

Sorry that this is being posted an hour after Skye skated. My Dad started doing something on the computer while I was watching her, so I couldn't get back to write this until he was finished.

Skye was wearing a fluorescent pink dress, and was skating to "Conga" by Gloria Estefan.

Going into this, I wasn't sure what to expect. But, I was plesantly surprised. Yes, she had a fall, and was not as polished as I am used to seeing. But, on the whole, it was pretty good.

She looked like she was having the time of her life - she was really going for it! And she has really mastered the art of armography.

Skye didn't have a coach with her, so Simon Briggs greeted her when she came off the ice, and went with her over to the seats. And he sat down and started commenting on her programme and giving her advice. You could see she was nervous, and all she could manage to say was the odd "yes". But Simon realised this, and encouraged her to say hello to her friends. She was still very nervous, so she just waved to the camera. Then Simon waved and said "Hi all of her friends. Hi coaches. Hi Simon". Skye could not stop laughing during all this. And after that, she was very talkative.

It was lovely to watch how Simon managed to put her at ease. He was just the perfect person to have sitting with a skater in this sort of situation. And I wish we could clone him and have one of him at every competition!

Anyway, she scored 21.89, putting her into 4th position out of the 14 that had skated at that stage, with 2 still to go.

I look forward to seeing Skye again sometime.

Wow, they're really flying through the event! I just flicked over to the Tayside Trophy, and my kid was just finishing his programme. An hour and ten minutes before he was due to start! :drama:

Well, I'm going to do something now, but I've paused it and will watch him at the time he was supposed to skate. Because I have planned my evening around that.

Since I haven't seen the programme yet, I think I can get away with posting this anyway.
