After writing that, I found out that Anna-Flora is also on the Entry list for the Coupe du Printemps next week. So, she has maybe decided to go there instead.

Anna-Flora has had a nightmare of a season. As you say, we haven't seen much of her this season. And when we have, she has really struggled. I don't know what is going on. But, I hope things go much better next season.

When I saw Celin's first name, my first thought was "I wonder if she has Turkish heritage". And it reminded me of the time years ago when I thought that the Gjersem twins had Turkish heritage because of their surname and appearance. And when I asked on here, another Norwegain member who knew them thought this was hilarious, and told me Gjersem was a common Norwegian name, and that their Mum is Filipina.

Seems like I'm looking for Turks everywhere in Norway!

I probably won't see any of this event, but I'll go looking for a video of her as I'm curious now to see what she is like.

That is probably a wise decision. Sure, it would be nice to go home, but doing these big journeys can take it out of you. At least by going straight to North America from Taiwan, she will get a good amount of time to get over it before Senior Worlds. Hey, it might even mean she is in better shape than she was for Junior Worlds!

Plus, after she flies home, she can say that she has circumnavigated the world in the space of a month! ;)

That said, she might decide to take the opportunity to pop down to Mexico to visit relatives before going back to Norway.

I´m hoping Anna-Flora going to Luxembourg is the reason she WD. I´m sad to hear she had a difficult season, I hope she can end it on good terms.

:laugh: I can assure you that Celin og Celine is a very common first name, Beate is a very Norwegian name and Ellingsen is a very common surname in Norway. But who knows, maybe she has some Turkish relatives from all that I know.

Yes, going to North America already seems wise to avoid jet lag and get time to prepare herself the best and hopefully a better outing at Worlds. From her story it seemed she was going to San Fransisco first, then Washington, and then Montreal, so no trip to Mexico for now. She might just be going between flights in SA and Washington.

Speaking of skaters crossing oceans. Emmi Peltonen is still on the entries list, but i´m very confused if she is really going to be there because from my understanding she just flew to US again to train in Chicago? But maybe she is going on a flight to Norway very soon? The senior ladies SP isn´t before Saturday, but I would thinks she needs time to deal with jet lag.

Indeed, the start orders are up for all categories, and Emmi is not listed anymore. So i´m guessing she is staying in the US for training.

Both of my remaining kids, Chiara Hristova (BUL) and Dillon Judge (IRL), are still there. As is the other Irish skater, Sophia Tkacheva. Chiara and Sophia are both in the final group in the Junior Ladies SP. And Dillon is the last to skate in the Senior Men's SP! :drama:

And I see that the two Václavíks are going back-to-back at the end of the Junior Men's SP. I know they are representing different countries, but are they related? I had a look at Tadeas' and Lukas' Instagram pages, and they both have photos of them together. Although, that may be because they have the same coaching setup.

Hey, if they are brothers, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that after Czechoslovakia split, one parent took Czech citizenship and the other took Slovak citizenship. And the boys have decided that between them they will represent both of their parents' countries.

I know we won't be able to watch it, but I just realised that the Entries / Results page for the Interclub part of the event hasn't been posted in this thread yet. So here it is:

Hope this helps

Yes, she has posted just a photo form an arena at her IG stories and seems it is US Arena where she is. But still nice there are many interesting skaters left, and many candidates who could medal. This will be exiting. And 30! junior women, if I quickly counted right, from 13  different countries. This competition is taking it's place. 9 junior and 4 seniors men is not bad either, as sometimes there are only couple in small competitions. This is a good chance for skaters who yet don't have TES for worlds to try them for next season and they can start season without pressure. Of course we don't know yet exactly what the next season's minimum TES would be, but if they get clearly more than demanded this season, they are in safe.

Nothing mentioned about how much it will cost, so I suppose it is free?

I hope it´s a good sign, but the only way we will find out for sure it´s in a few hours when Advanced Novice will start, because there are no stream for the younger participants.

They are really letting us wait until the end with a actual stream link

The entries are not so bad considering it´s between JWC and WC. The junior ladies entries is really large. Having my fingers crossed for skaters getting minimums for the next season :pray:

Sorry, I wasn't looking at the time. But, the Warm-Up is only just starting, so that's one thing at least.

The ISU part of the event starts now with the Advanced Novices. No boys, but we do have 29 girls, arranged into two groups of 7; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group of 7; followed by a group of 8.

Livestream for the Advanced Novice Ladies SP is due to start now.

I had to watch Venla Sinisalo. I have seen she has had many good skates this season at novice level but never seen her skate before. She is a very promising skater, fast and flexible. She will challenge other national juniors next season, just 12 years old now but I suppose she will turn 13 before july and be age eligible to skate in juniors. Edit. She is born March 2011, so she will be eligible to skate in juniors next season if she wants to.

Thanks I'll have it on.

Congrats to the Norwegian federation for arranging this competition finding a date that works. Great opportunity especially for Scandinavian skaters who can reach Oslo by car, bus and train. Also making a good opportunity for lower ranked skaters living nearby as well as for them needing the qualification tech.

ETA though sad to see so few Danish skaters.

Wow I saw her and immediately knew she's a skater from Finland without knowing. Future star if things go well :) Hope to see her in jgp. But gosh... so many great Finnish women competing for spots

@CaroLiza_fan The Vaclaviks sat together in k&c, I think it´s safe to assume they are brothers, but representing different countries. They both did very well, currently nr. 1 and 3. Would be awesome if the brothers would take the podium together.

Yes, she catched my eye. Had a lot of energy and good jumps! I think the choice of program and costume was a bit surprising to me, It was a bit different from what I see other Finnish skaters do, but in a refreshing way.

Thanks I'll have it on.

Yes, it´s really nice to have a ISU competition in Norway. I hope it might inspire more people to look into figure skating, particular boys :) Nice to see so many countries, with many Nordics skater.

Btw, I really enjoyed Nora Coppens and the Maria Anna from the Swedish girls in Advanced Novice, they are currently in a good position for the podium.

Yes, sad with the Danish skater, but there are a few in juniors at least. It was like that in Nordics too.
