He's from Gateshead, just across the River Tyne from Newcastle. He used to train at the nearby Whitley Bay club (where Aleksandra Golovkina trained when she was at university in Newcastle), but is now training in Oxford.

Incidentally, Jacob Casey, who we saw earlier in Juniors, also trains in Oxford.

Looks like it, he is not scheduled to competitions before worlds. There are no Finnish men listed to Challenge cup. Merano Ice Trophy is, but there is only Valtter. Makar may have matriculation exams in March, so that maybe the reason he is listed to no more competitions.
