Ekaterina Gordeeva was a competitive pair and single skater. With her partner Sergei Grinkov they got the Olympic gold medal for the USSR in 1988 and 1992. Together they also won 4 world championships and are known as one of the greatest pair skaters of all time.
When Sergei died, Ekaterina or Katia as she likes to be called, continued skating as a single skater and eventually moved on to shows. Katia still today does shows in the Russian portion of stars on ice
Recently she has moved from California to Edmonton, and has been coaching in Edmonton
