Someone R Us! I tried a Google image search on "Belita" and got 12 pages of hits. But none was our gal.

(BTW, I think you confused skater Maria Belita Jepson-Turner with Helen Jepson, the opera singer.)

Whatever. I'm in the early stages of senility so one Jepson is as good as another in my warped mind.

I sent several e-mails to Turner Classic Movies to show Belita's Suspense where she split lutzes through swords to no avail.

Apparently, if you were a ten-time World Champion and Olympic Champion back then, you had to skate around random dogs that wandered onto the ice.

I also noticed that the first time I saw that clip!

dutchherder is right about the lack of older clips...I've searched 30-40 skaters/pairs on youtube, from the Brunets to Gillis Grafstrom to Maribel Vinson, and even Charlotte Oelschlagel, and there's nothing. I'm very thankful for the folks who have posted any era of skating, particularly the older stuff that I might otherwise never have seen.
