Well, she's not in 1st...and thus is not skating last. So that should take some pressure off (actually, I'm glad she's not leading so she won't feel overwhelmed...I won't comment on Rochette's 70-pt score since I haven't seen the performance- and come to think of it, I probably won't watch it)
I fell in love with her tango (and her costume) even though she made mistakes and got low score. Who choreograghed her SP? Isn't it perhaps Shae-Lynn? It looks like her style. Whoever choreograghed it, he/she did a terrific job and seems to have made considerable efforts for it to look good on Joannie.
[the SP score] it does't make all that much difference.
Can Alissa make the GPF if she finishes 2nd overall?
Yes, but she needs to outscore Rachel and Akiko has to be lower than 4th. Both are possible but who knows what will happen?
I wouldn't start counting Alyssa's GPF chances just yet. If she has one of her usual "Alyssa" freeskates she could finish OTP. Then she's out for good.
By how much does she need to outscore Rachael? Is it doable?
I know we all don't like to admit home country advantage, but come on! How else can you explain Lacoste and Phaneuf over Suzuki? No, seriously. Can anyone explain this to me for any other reason than because Suzuki isn't Canadian?
And if 6 points is going to be the only difference, then COP needs to start rewarding the 3-3 more.
Wait a minute...Rochette didn't do a 3-3??
and she scored 70???
HUH?!
Flatt:
174.91
157.71
=332.62
Czisny:
158.30
63.52
=221.82
So she needs 110.81. I'd say it's doable, but she'll have to be right on the money.
Alright:thumbsup: Thanks for doing the math Kissx.
If Sasha can do it (71.12 at 2003 Skate Canada), Joannie certainly can too I think!
Except ... Sasha was so much better IMO than Joannie at everything except jumps.
