Regarding Czako, I think I remember reading somewhere on the internet that she's the founder and headmistress of a school or pre-school in Hungary somewhere. I think I might have read it through her website.

I, too, was always sad that Kristina Czako could never pull it together. She had so much promise and had some great successes on the junior level. She actually finished second to Kwan at the 1994 World Jr. Championships, defeating a young Irina Slutskaya in the process. It is interesting to think that she is a head mistress now, though!
I am curious about Olga Markova, too. She had some very unusual programs in the 90s, but I did enjoy her SP at the 1995 Worlds quite a bit. She seemed to drop off of the planet after Birmingham, though.

I was a big fan of Kulovana's too! I'm glad that someone else out there also remembers her!

How about Brittney McConn? She went to a few GP's in the late 90s (she was rather the Alissa Czisny of the time, getting assignments due to others injuries, but she didn't quite get the results Alissa has been getting), then just kind of disappeared. And is Yukina Ota still competing? She was a delight to watch.

I'm sure I could compile a huge list of "Talent that Disappeared", but I haven't been up long enough today for my brain to come up with it.... I'll probably come up with one later....

Britney McConn joined the USFSA, and was the team leader to one of our junior events recently.

Does anyone know what happened to Shelby Lyons and Brian Wells?

Brian Wells was last known to be studying to become a dentist. I think I heard Shelby was working in a hair salon or something like that (unless I'm confusing her with someone else).

What is Viachcheslav Zagorodniuk up to these days?

He coaches at a rink in Virginia, and has been spotted with his students at some club competitions this season.

I'm curious about what Scott Davis is doing these days. I think he had been touring in a national tour of "Grease" for a while. Does he coach skating?

He's been seen acting as a technical specialist ("caller") at various competitions recently.

ANNA RECHNIO!! Remember her? She was the Polish lady who finished 5th and 6th at the 98 and 99 Worlds, tanked the 00 Worlds, then vanished.

Olga Markova retired from figure skating and accomplished her plans. She graduated from the Sports University and is a choreographer in Russia.

Anna Rechino is coaching In Poland.

Remember Holly Cook, talented jumper and rivaled Tonya's jumps. Quit skating just prior to the 90 (I think) Nationals.

Actually, it was just prior to 91, since she won the World bronze in 90. Anyway -- she was at a USFSA reunion event a few years ago, is now known as Holly Cook-Somebody (can't remember the name); am assuming she's now settling down in Sadie Sadie Married Lady mode.

Tamara Dorofejev -- up and coming young Hungarian lady, placed 19th at the 01 Worlds, and was only seen once since. I heard from someone on here about a year or two ago that she was recovering from an injury, but she's still MIA. Presumably retired??

Actually, Cook competed at 1991 Nationals and finished 6th. After that she tried a couple of coaching changes -- first Kathy Casey, then Barbara Roles -- before calling it quits sometime before 1992 Nationals. Her married name now is Tanner.

I do miss AP's skating. She was one of my favorite skaters. and her Madame Butterly LP remains one of my favorite programs.

I haven't heard anything about them after they left eligible sport. Are they skating in a show? Coaching?

Yeah, for being a slime bucket tax evader. I guess he feels that it's okay for the rest of us to pay Gary's way. :p

Yes, Fedor Andreev is still competing; he placed 6th at last year's Canadian championships.

Chen Lu, Lisa Ervin, Elizabeth Punsalan, and Jerrod Swallow are all coaching now. I believe Elaine Zayak is, too. Christopher Bowman was coaching for several years but I haven't heard any news about him since he had a minor run-in with the law a year or two ago.

Rudy Galindo is still doing his thing on the pro circuit.

Haven't heard anything about Jenny Tew or Sydne Vogel lately.
