The new law also imposes new taxes that can affect everyone. The cut off point is not set to inflation, so in about 10 yrs maybe most people may end up making $250k / couple. The law also penalizes married couples, since the cut off point for individuals is $200k, but only $250k for a couple. (It should be $400k to be fair for couples since there are TWO)

Penalties on companies with employees who receive government subsidies for health insurance mean now companies have even fewer incentives to hire more workers, part-timers included. Expect more automation and off-shoring.

The CBO cost estimate is laughably low. It includes FY 2010, which has already started. The benefits won't kick in for 4 yrs after the passage of the bill. So the cost estimate is not for the 10 years' worth of benefits, but only about 5.

There's almost nothing in the bill that controls cost. The problem w/ American health care is not that its quality is bad, but that it's too expensive.

I think this Bill, if passed, will be a start to more revisions in favor of the people. That's what Big Biz is worried about.

American health care is run by the pharmaceuticals not by the AMA. The big pharmas work together with the big business of insurance. Profit Making not Health Care is the GOAL!
