2014 Trophée Eric Bompard Ladies FS 11/22

I understand that but PCs tend to only go up from here. If Elena stays consistent the judges are going to blow her scores sky-high at Worlds.

That's true, but for now, not much is coming out of fretting over what might happen at worlds. Elena isn't even for sure on the world team right now (I know it looks nearly impossible right now that she might not make it, but is she does have a bad Nationals, and Adelina, Liza and Julia are skating great....)

I love my Elena but I am afraid for her. I don't how long will she be able to land her jumps and her posture is not the best. But she has musicality and enjoys performing. I heart her:cheer:

Since I'm horrible at the numbers game -- Is Lipnitskaia pretty much a lock for the GPF?

It's gonna look like Russian nationals for the ladies.

How sad that only 3 of these girls can be in the WC
But yes, if Elena keeps getting clean performances, her scores are surely to go higher. My bet is on her to first reach the 70+ this season

The judges are building her up as the new Kostner in PCS territory (entirely undeserved, how can you even compare), so they can over mark Adelina at Russia Nationals through high benchmark her, just you wait.

Lena's jumps are much better than in SA, which gives me hope. The girl needs some muscle, though, and a better technique on her 2A (the latter applies for Yulia as well).

What's really weird is that almost all the Russian women (Julia, Anna, and Elena) with the exception of Liza have bad axel technique. Don't know why though...

Ashley is really an unpredictable skater.Every competition she is changing her repartoire to get more points. My heart literally went out when she was going for the lutz, and then she added a triple toe out of that. Diva is trying to kill me.:drama:

Looks like she will add 3Lz, 3Lo-2A and 3F+3T on her free skate again after judges gave to her lutz "!". But the most sad thing is she is giving away too much points from steps. She has to do something about that.:disapp:

Julia skated much better than at CoC and her costume is a big improvment, but this R&J number is just a hot mess and big step back from her LP last year. Shame, because Megapolis is a wonderful SP for her and astepforward from last year.

This is a sad day for me, Meryl Streep got beaten up by Dakota Fannings.

Elena 30 (1st SA, 1st TEB)
Liza 28 (2nd SA, 1st COC)
Anna 28 (1st SC, 2nd RC)
Julia 26 (2nd COC, 2nd TEB)
Ashley 24 (2nd SC, 3rd TEB)
Rika 22 (5th SC, 1st RC)

Still to skate:
Gracie Gold -11 (3rd SA)
Satoko Miyahara 11 (3rd SC)
Kanako Murakami 11 (3rd COC)
Polina Edmunds 9 (4th COC)

Basically, if the winner of NHK is one of the four skaters above they willget a spot. The second place winner will have to be one of the bronze medalists and they will have to score more overall to kick Ashley out of the spot (Miyahara 182.00; Gold 184.37; Murakami; 194.35)

So a realistic scenario where Ashley could get kicked out would basically one bronze medalist or someone else winning NHK and one of the bronze medalists getting second and scoring higher than the scores above.)

Leonova and Daleman can play spoiler at NHK though they're to far down in the placements to make GPF.

The only scenario where Rika will hold on to her spot is if none of the bronze medalists win or get second place AND Polina doesn't win. (dream podium for Rika's GPF chances: Alena Leonova/Zijun Li for the win/silver and Polina for 2nd or 3rd.)

Yulia is safe though, I think.

Elena's score is not that much. Her pcs are high but still a few points under the tech score, and rightly so obviously. We've seen worse situations in the recent past.
