What a gift for them!!! I am sure their team is exceedingly proud. Bravo Antonio, Svetlana, Elena, Ilia and Olga. God give them courage to perform with dignity!!!
 
I don't know If it is good or bad for them to be in GPF. They really had to work on their free dance. Good point is they can show their short dance in Spain.:cheer:
 
I am sooooo happy for I/Z because they deserved that spot at GPF and they got it!! Watching that Paso Doble will be amazing in Barcelona!! Congratulations guys!

That's true. That's why I wasn't sad at all when we thought they will miss it.
Anyway, It was a dream to see that SD in Spain and it's becoming true.

I hope they will give their best and get the levels in that FD. They hardly can do more at this point.

It's incredibly impressive that they even made the final in their first season together :cheer:
Of course most of the other teams in the final will be superior to them but no matter where they finish in Spain, the Russian federation has to note the fact that they were there after skating together for like half a year ;)
So I think it's good for them to go.
And with their brilliant Paso Doble interpretation. ....in Spain I wouldn't even write them off completely, I think, if they work on refining their free, they could be in contention for a pretty good placing!
 
I think them making GPF is ultimately a good thing. It helps to solidify their place in the National Team, I believe it will give them more World ranking points for Euros and Worlds, and it'll help them place top 6 at Worlds and even medal at Euros, by giving them the reputation of being one of the top teams. Sure, they will lose a little time, but by the time GPF rolls around they will have had a month to work on their FD and fix levels, and they will get more feedback from the judges. Even a couple weeks is enough to show an improvement, so I think they'll put up a decent showing. It does not really matter where they place, the Fed will just be thankful they have a team there at all.

TBH I am so shocked and happy at the moment, their SD is the best this season and now they have a chance to do their Carmen in Barcelona!

Go I/Z! I genuenly adore this team, hope they improve their levels and have a great performance in GPF!

I can't believe that!! All my favorite are in GPF despite so many difficulties they have had to face!!! This makes my day!!! :cheer:
 
I'm happy for them.It may throw them a bit off their schedule but it's an opportunity.I think they should have been third in China anyway, but to make the GPF after six months together,IK did that after years and just once.
So whatever place they finish at, it's a success just to be there and it's ranking and exposure

I agree!! Getting into GPF is a huge achievement for a new team! Russian fed might be over the moon at the moment!!
 
yay for Grand Prix Final :cheer: just last night I was thinking that GPF this season's gonna be a shut down completely for Russia Ice dance :laugh2: my bad my bad
haha, what now? a medal in European Championship? a place in Russian team at World Cup? :laugh2:

Well there are some stupid articles as well, from the same stupid journalists that did all the SK PR that well now think M/K should have taken the place and that they were better than W/P.But they are the usual suspects, most of their articles are made up stories with inconsistencies.
 
The stars are aligned for I/Z! I am so happy that we will get to see their great SD in Barcelona!
