How would you actually define a skater signature programm/s? For me it's the programms that bring tears to my eyes, those that I can watch forever.
Hers' my initial list:
Kwan - so many do it for me, I guess Rach and Lyra from 1998 are the true ones, but also Tosca, Spartacus, and The red violin.
Wagner - her Moulin Rouge LP this year - showbiz at its best! Also her black swan LP, especially the 2012 worlds version.
Mao - Rach from Sochi, and the Lieberstrom LP.
Kim- James Bond and Gershwin from 2010, Les miserables LP, Adios noninos LP.
Takahashi - Blues for Klook - yummy! it's a crime againt humanity it didn't win worlds.
V&T - Masquarade and Black Swan in particular.
Jenny Kirk's Chicago numbers (as SP and exhibitions).
Carolina Kostner - her 2014 Ave Maria and Bolero, two spectacularly goregeous programms, and when she FINALLY realized her potential.
Lipniskaia's Schindler list was iconic last year, and will prorbably be the reference for the rest of her career.

now you go!

Mao - Rachmaninoff (Sochi)
Yulia - Schindler's List
Shizuka - Turandot (both 2004 and 2006)

There are probably more but these are most memorable to me.

If the Abbott 2014 Worlds FP brought you to tears, you definitely need to see this. The original version of the FS from the 2012 Nationals. This is the version that makes me cry every time. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xo60ty_2012-u-s-national-jeremy-abbott-fs_sport

I'll be back later with my other faves. :points:

My favorite Michelle program was hands down East of Eden.....possibly because I love that piece of music so much but she also just nailed it every time.

Kurt Browning's Casablanca.
Jason Brown's Riverdance.
Takahashi's LP from 2014. Can't remember the name of the music but it was my favorite of anything he ever did!
Patrick Chan's Aranguez
Davis & White's Notre Dame de Paris
Jeremy Abbott's SP from 2012 - the swing number choreo'ed by Benjie Schwimmer

Probably more but those come to mind now. And I realize what makes me love a program is first the music and then second how the skater(s) interprets that music. I'm personally SICK!SICK!SICK! of tangoes and wish they, and Carmen, would be outlawed. POTO is starting to get on my nerves, too, no matter who skates to it.

I think most of the times the most iconic ones come from those presented in Olympic season, Yuna, Mao and Carolina were gorgeous, Yulia LP, V/T Masquerade

When I wasn;t a member yet of this forum I didn;t know a lot have adored Mao's liebestraum particularly the 4CC.

For me her Liebestraum is nothing short of a signature or a masterpiece, her skate pierced to my very bones and gave me that sort of glimpse in heaven feeling. Most beautiful.

I personally define "signature program" as what most people would associate with the skater. They are not necessarily my favourite programs. And it's possible some skaters don't have one stand-out program... they just have a bunch of good programs.

Kwan: Rachmaninoff or Lyra Angelica
Arakawa: Turandot
Lipnitskaya: Schindler's List
Baiul: Swan Lake

Plushenko: Tribute to Nijinsky
Yagudin: Winter
Stojko: Dragon
Kulik: Rhapsody in Blue
Joubert: The Matrix
Hanyu: Parisian Walkways

Shen/Zhao: Turandot
Berezhnaya/Sikharulidze: Lady Caliph
Savchenko/Szolkowy: Pink Panther

Torvill/Dean: Bolero
Virtue/Moir: Mahler
Anissina/Peizerat: Romeo and Juliet? Or maybe their Flamenco OD from 2002
Bourne/Kraatz: Riverdance

I define signature program as one that is so closely associated with a skater that it becomes a basis for comparison anytime someone else skates to the same music.

Michelle Kwan-East of Eden, Rach medley.
Oksana Baiul-Dying Swan, Swan Lake
Janet Lynn- Afternoon of a Faun
Sasha Cohen-Romeo and Juliet
Shizuka Arakawa-Turandot (Violin Fantasy)
Mao Asada-Chopin Nocturne in E-flat major
Yagudin-Man in the Iron Mask
Torvill and Dean-Bolero
