2014-2015 GPF Ladies Free Skate 12/13

One thing I noticed about Liza's program. She tweaked the steps before her 3T-3T I think. It looked like her 3T-3T was later than in previous competitions. Will be interesting to see if she got the second half bonus for it.

She did get the bonus! Smart girl!

I feel a bit bad for Rika for being almost clean and still finishing last. She really beat hersulf up about that mistake, but that girl seems to have nerves of steel, so hopefully she'll be good.

I feel absolutely horrible for Anna and Julia  I thought Julia was handling it better than Anna, but the bit at the end of her K&C showed she was not. I guess it's like a rite of passage for the young russians to go through a rough patch like that. Tukt did, and now she's on top of her game again, so, hopefully, the others will rise again. Altough it seems there's something wrong physically with Anna as well... Don't worry girls, you'll do better next time! :cheer2:

And congrats to Tukt! She really deserved that win and I'm especially happy for her after the last seasons she had

So heartbreaking for Anna and Yulia... I hope they keep fighting on.

But, to see Liza on top of the podium at the end of the Grand Prix series, is a dream come true. I hope her success continue into Nationals and ultimately Worlds.

Ashley medals at the GPF 3 years in a row :cheer: Will people now finally stop calling her old, or the epitome of the decline of American figure skating? *Happy fan* Elizaveta and Elena are also my favorites among the pack of Russian ladies - even if I sometimes think their style is weird. Great podium.

She calls herself old.

Still bad for Yulia
I hope she can recover for the 2nd half of the season, as well as Anna, who was on the edge of a breakdown in the K&c

Yup I think a lot of people had written her off. She's a good lesson for them and for other skaters who are struggling with growth or injuries.

It was so frustrating because I don't think you should write anyone off, especially someone with her jump technique. The same people who were declaring Julia the future of the sport are now writing her off as yesterday's jam. It's ridiculous, so many things factor into how someone performed in a season, not just "The eeevil puberty monster."

Liza earned this gold. This is what, her 9th competition this year? No skater has worked harder than her.

Agree 100%

I am of the same opinion except for me Liza's style is not weird, Elena's is sometimes. Great podium. Yes

I'm glad Elena moved up a place from the short, she's my favourite because of her performance. :D However, even I can see that Elizaveta's jumps are simply fabulous, and her performance in the free was excellent. I just wish she would point her feet and work on her spins!

I love how the camera was on Ashley and she smiles and then makes a silly face, she looks so happy

Btw, regarding this whole "plays the medallist's music as they step onto the podium" thing... What if someone had some really sad music? Especially now lyrics are allowed--what if the song is about someone dying?

(I'm overthinking this...)

So, the club 200 just got a new member: Elizaveta Tuktamysheva! Congrats. very well done indeed! :cheer: :cheer2:
