I agree, she sounds wise beyond her years and incredibly grounded. Her mental strength + excellent technique should keep her on top, or close to it at least, for many years to come. And I would LOVE to see her (and Serafima) skate to hard rock. Time for the ladies to get some more variety in their programs. And Thin Lizzy is one of my favorite bands - great choice.

I wasn't planning on re-posting the link this year (hey, after seeing Sam's "Smile" video, this one seems kinda basic!). But since you said that Thin Lizzy is one of your favourite bands, I kinda feel I have to!

Did you see the video I made for Liza's birthday last year?

As you know, Gary Moore's music has been used quite a lot in recent years (particularly "Parisienne Walkways"). Well, you may not know this, but his hometown is about 25 miles from where I live.

The thing is, I prefer rock music to blues music. So when I went to make this video, I wanted to use a song from the time he was in Thin Lizzy. When I went looking for one, I found this song from the year of Gary's first stint in the band (1974). And I just HAD to use it.

Hope you enjoy it

On Sunday afternoon, sabinfire posted a link to a version of this photo without the graphics, along with a link to another photo taken about a second later, in the GPF Gala thread:

Both of these photos are screenshots taken from the highlights package shown at the end of Liza's Gala routine.

And you will find out tomorrow how I know that... ;)

Thank you for the links. I'd love to see a rock 'n' roll (er, sans lyrics) or Game of Thrones program from Liza. :yay:

YES!!!!!!

That was a dig, right? Well, I'll give you that one. After the argument the other week in which I was describing Julia as "a child", I deserved that. :slink:

But, it's not quite as hypocritical as it sounds. I did make a point of waiting until Liza was legal (i.e. 17) to admit that I fancied her... ;)

And I am also making a point of waiting until her 18th birthday (i.e. tomorrow) to do something else. (You'll all see soon enough! )

Oh? No, no dig. That's just my default personal rule - I feel icky crushing on any skater before they turn 18. Boy or girl, no matter. Hence I was glad that when I "discovered" Max he was already 20. ;)

Very nice video! I can only wonder what you have in store for her 18th.

Yes, I am not the biggest fan of Gary Moore solo, blues is not my cup of tea. But that's pretty cool that he is from your area.

I would love to see a good program with GoT music. I love the series and I love the music.
Brezina's program is a total disappointment for me. Not only I don't like the program, but I don't like the music version he chose also.

I actually like Brezina's program... :slink:

Happy birthday Liza! :hb:  May all your wishes come true. (Am I early? It should be the 17th already in Russia, right?)

Thanks for the article! Little Liza in Asturias dress. I feel so nostalgic

Happy birthday dear Liza! I wish you health, lots of success, and happiness
