Joshua Farris

I like this picture. He looks relaxed, happy, but strong, and in control of what he's doing.

I can't quite make out what the pictures are. It looks like a train of food?

Looks like a train of sushi?

Josh's birthday dinner was sushi, so he must like it.

If I had to guess, from left to right:
Ebi (shrimp) nigiri; ikura (salmon roe); tamago (egg); maguro (tuna); uni (sea urchin); ika (squid); some kind of maki (sushi roll). Yum.

Gracie's fav food is also sushi.
BTW,you are so cool to know all the different Sushi names, I cannot. I usually just point to the pictures:biggrin:

^ why a pink one though? I'm not sure Josh would want a pink polar bear

Maybe a Sushi-eating polar bear that wears his Schindlers List outfit

Interrupting the sushi and polar bear discussion to bring you this video from last year's Stars on Ice. I'm sure you've all seen it, but I like watching this one b/c it shows that Josh can be lighthearted which is a refreshing change from the angst of this year's programs.

Not that I don't enjoy the emo side of his skating, but this one is so much fun to watch as he and the guys look to be enjoying themselves skating to Fitz and The Tantrum's "The Walker." I believe this was also choreographed by Jeff Buttle, so I guess this was their first collaboration of sorts? I've also seen the Canadian version where Jeff skates Josh's part.

I know Josh has credited doing SOI with helping him with his performance and you can clearly see it in this video.

I was looking that very video up a while ago but after nationals for. . . some reason (Might have been looking for Jeremy Abbott having fun) and was shocked to see Josh at the start. I had seen it before, but it never clicked the happy silly one was the calm emo Josh one.

I really wish we could see Josh Max and Jason doing this number or one like it. Maybe with Adam Rippon and Jordan Moeller tossed in.

New Josh article on USOC :) website:

Joshua Farris Is Quickly Climbing The Ranks In Men’s Figure Skating

Based on Josh's teleconference, but nice to see the recognition from the USOC.

ETA:

For 18 seconds of practice video of Josh Farris using the red headband/blindfold thing today, see the link contained within this tweet:

NPR's Here and Now interviewed the USFSA President about Team USA's prospects and the future direction of the sport.

http://hereandnow.wbur.org/2015/03/23/us-skaters-worlds

At approx 3:45 of this interview, Auxier singles out Josh as Team USA's most promising man (not a direct quote).

That one where he appears to be staring into the camera

I'm not sure if he's just flawless at keeping to the character of his music even during practice or if he's purposefully mugging for the camera.

I can't imagine Josh deliberately mugging for the camera, but if there were a few spectators sitting in that area, he was probably practicing projecting at them. I hope all ladies and gents in the facility managed to stay upright and conscious.

Practice looked good to me, lots of emoting during the step sequence - the movements looked sharper to me than Nationals and 4CC's. Is Friday here yet?

My characterization of him as a "stone cold fox" upthread lead to some laughs but COME. ON. If that's not the most accurate way of describing his looks I'm not sure what is.
