Elena Radionova

I don't agree with the final standings. But congrats to Elena for holding it together despite her illness!

Ok u just answered my question. She has been sick. I was all like WTH. Her scoring seemed low to me too. Thought she held on to second.

Now I really hope that both Lena & Liza go to WTT, just so I can see more of them snuggling in the kiss & cry!!

Congratulations lovely Lena for fighting out the bronze:dance:!! She didn't have her usual energy levels for understandable reasons, but she still fought out a medal. That is mighty impressive:clap:

:cheer:Lena is a World Championships Medalist!!!:party2:

It was cute no doubt, but they need a break. Pressure looked like it final got to them and Liza has competed 1000 times this year. They need to go to the beach.

No no no!! I second Batsuchan. WTT is not so serious. Get out there Lena & Liza and just have fun.:yay:

I wouldn't say pressure necessarily got to Lena as much as whatever illness she has. It sounded like she just started getting sick on the day of the SP, and I know I feel my worst like 2-3 days into a bad cold/flu...

I think Lena might still like to go because 1) she loves Japan, and the Japanese fans love her (and she gets tons of presents), and 2) I think she might want to cap off her season with one final really good FS performance--maybe wearing the costume that the Japanese designer from Chacott made for her. :agree:

But, if she decides she needs a break and that there's a lot of things she needs to work on, then I understand... :)

Plus, if Lena goes to Japan, there might be more Japanese TV specials on her, which I can understand! (Unlike the Russian ones...)

Well, it all depends on whether Rus Fed wants to win gold or not.

It would be like a brilliant encore for a spectacular season (for both of them)! And Lena loves Japan too much to skip it:biggrin:

 oh my
huge Conrats to our gal! & how sunny she still was after moving down to 3rd! so prud of her will & character!
Please go to Japan!!!

The same Russian fed that allowed S/K to skip Worlds with the reason they gave? If they are tired, let them rest. They can send Serafima and Zhenya to get them some senior experience before GP starts.

PS I love her attitude: http://fsrussia.ru/news/943-elena-radionova-eto-samaya-tyazhelaya-moya-medal.html
I will not look for a justification. Own fault. The temperature was brought down, but after an illness weakness. But so what? This competition will give me a great experience, as act in extreme situations that you should never give up. I struggled, but the strength a little bit not enough.

Are they allowed to? Does the WTT have different age limits?

The attitude is almost freakish!

This medal is the most difficult of my career

We know, at the end of the program she seemed too tired to do absolutely anything. It's incredible that, in the end, the illness didn't cost her at all. The gold was always going to "Tuk the 3A", and I see no difference between silver and bronze

Congrats Elena!! :cheer: It was really great to see her power through the program instead of giving up when things went wrong. Proud of her for getting her first world medal! It must have been really difficult on her.

I do want to see her at WTT but only if she's well enough to compete!

Congratulations Lena, for your first World medal! Sad it wasn't a better colour, sad that Lena couldn't finish her string of perfect LPs this year... but sometimes it can't be helped. Maybe it's just me, but I suspect something's wrong with the ice. Both Russian girls were popping jumps even in the warm-up. Everyone messed up (except Rika Hongo who is just inhuman).

Lena and Liza cuddling was too adorable for words.

As for WTT, if the girls feel healthy and want to go, let them go. However, if they are tired, still recovering from illness, get any injuries, ect. I hope the Russian Fed doesn't push them. They've earned a break.

Elena Radionova: Struggled, but the strength is not enough

- I am very glad that I was able to win the first medal at the world championship, " said Radionova. Not all of my free program turned out. Tore triple rittberger. But now I know what to work on. I fought as best I could. Of course, appeared on the arbitrary program is very sluggish. And the last component of the force is simply not enough. But I will not make excuses for myself. She is guilty. Yes, the temperature was, it was a hit, but the weakness after illness remained. The main thing is that this contest will give me a great experience of how to act in extreme situations. I realized that to never give up. Fought, but a little bit not enough. Not to say that I am sorry that it all came out in this tournament. Pleased that we were able to go out and skate the long program. But in short I just had a really horrible condition. But nothing can be done, it just happened. I am happy with myself and my abilities. Although now, honestly, do not understand what my state.

This happens not for the first time. It seems that she often gets cold.

Good job Elena! You could see that her team in the Kiss and Cry was happy with the result. They were clearly scared that things would go very wrong and they only went wrong a little bit. Not her best performance, but the best showcase of her fighting spirit :cheer: Bronze is a good medal to make her hungry for more

Probably not but there's still Leonova, Pogo, Lip, Artemieva. Technically the top 2 ranked are supposed to go and that's Tuk and Lip. Radionova is first alternate, Pogo 2nd alternate.
