Okay, upon rewatch it wasn't as bad as I remembered.
The Good:
....
Also, Jason's Japanese Fan Club has posted some photos and question/answers from the fan meeting on their twitter account:

That is a good one. I choose mine cause I love good journalism portraits...I tweeted back and forth with thr photag and he confirmed it was actually snowing and really cold!
Dumb question for the day: has Jason gotten taller? I always thought Max was taller than Jason, and his height is listed at 173 cm (5'8") versus 170 (5'7") for Jason. When they stood next to each other on the podium, Jason looked at least an inch taller; the top of his head and his shoulders both seemed higher. Was it his shoes, my imagination, or has he grown a bit?
Here's a pic from the opening banquet. Max looks taller than Jason here, but he's also standing closer to the camera, and it's possible that the heels of his dress shoes are higher than Jason's.
I still think they're approximately the same height. It's so difficult to get an accurate view of Jason because he likes to cock his head a lot, or even bend down a little, when he's standing with people. Certainly neither of them are as tall as Joshua or Jeremy. Max is almost certainly heavier, however.
When comparing heights from past photos it's also important to remember that Max is more than three years older than Jason, so his growth was at different stages - he had finished growing and was starting to fill out when Jason had his big growth spurt, for example.
What does surprise me, looking at that picture, is how short Gracie is compared to Jason and Max. I had always had her and Max at the same height, but she's wearing heels in this picture and only just matches them, so she must be shorter.
EDIT: Another good comparison for muscle development/fill out to do is to look at the pictures of Max when he won his National title, vs the pictures of him now. Boy put on some SERIOUS weight in the last few years.

I have been traveling to the West Coast and unable to watch until now.I just tried to watch Jason's gala again, thinking, well maybe it was just me on the cold/flu pills yesterday that made it almost unwatchable.
Nope. Physically could not go beyond the first minute. Sorry Jason, but this is awful. :hopelessness:

Okay. Steeling myself to listen to it, because I'll bet they weren't pleasant about Max either.
IIRC, they actually weren't too bad. They did mention that Max makes a lot of mistakes (which he can't afford to do), but Alex supported the decision to send Max to WTT instead of Josh/Adam, and called Max a hard-working athlete.
