Luckily for me I was sort of mentally prepared. :laugh: He's been posting pictures of tattoos on his vk for quite some while. But I didn't expect it to be so soon. I thought maybe a couple years from now. :shrug:

I'm pretty sure they can't be real. You have to be 18 to get tattoos in the US, and a cursory Google search tells me it's the same in Russia. I suppose there are unscrupulous people who would tattoo a 16-year-old, but I can't imagine he would go that far. When would he have had the opportunity to get them?

You can get one with parental consent if you're 16+. And it doesnt have to be your parents lol, I had my cousin who was 22 with me when I got my first one at 16....but mine was tiny :laugh: Not sure about Russia though

:shrug: He didn't have them 3 weeks ago. So maybe they're temporary ones. At least I hope so...
 
Oh, dear.... Well, I hope he really likes it, as 60-70 years can be a long time to be stuck with something that seemed like a good idea when you were 16... And it isn't exactly small either (I looked at the picture via the link you sent me before). What does it say? I couldn't see as it was too fuzzy for me (and my eyesight being what it is - or isn't, raher... )

I have no idea. He said it's in Latin, which means we'll probably never find out unless he tells us. It looks like he has one sentence on the right forearm and another on the left forearm. They don't seem symmetrical so I assume it's two different sentences/phrases.

Yeah, I wish he'd have started with something smaller. Now all I can say is that I hope there are no spelling/grammar errors. :slink:

Can you make out the letters? Maybe we could guess at the meaning. :) (I did study a little Latin once... very little, and of that little I retain even less, all right - almost nothing! - but... ;))

He uploaded a pic of part of his right arm a couple days back, the second last word looks like "ergo", the rest are not clear. "... ergo p...s" maybe? I'm not sure. I wonder whether it extends up his upper arm. I guess this sort of shows he has a fairly high threshold of pain.

Thanks! Well, we'll find out soon enough, I suppose - I mean, it's not like those tattoos are going anywhere. ;)

I suppose he never considered: "Tempora mutantur nos et mutamur in illis." = Times change and we change with them. ;) (One of the few things I retain from my Latin classes.;))
 
Oh, I suddenly remembered - I believe "ergo" means "therefore". (As in "Cogito ergo sum" - though obviously it isn't that.)

"If we talk about Alexander Petrov , his task in the summer clear - to get to the next season in which he did not have much in the last season. That is, a stable jump in four turns. Otherwise, as an adult Grand Prix, where Petrov was going to make his debut, he will do nothing."

Is that Google translate-ian for: that his main task is to get a stable quad, or he won't be able to achieve much at the senior GP where he is going to make his debut? (Google translate being what it is, I'm not going to throw a hissy panic fit at the "was going to debut" part.;))

Well, that's how I interpreted the Google translation. Yeah, Google translate often gets the tense and grammar wrong.

Sasha had a good rest this year for the first time in last three years. His SP was choreographed by Stephan Lambiel. Also he is working on different quads, plans 4T in both programs. And wants to fight for GP podium's and a ticket to the Europeans/Worlds. I think somebody interested will translate this completely ;)

The last sentence is a bit doubtful, because likely he will go to the Youth Olympics (and may be the Junior Worlds?)

I think setting one's goal high can be a good thing - as the saying goes: "If you aim for the stars, you may reach the treetops." I too think it's doubtful he'll make the Euros/Worlds teams - but I love that he wants to go for it.:)
