Aww, and this includes the "famous" collapse on the ice

Finlandia was his first competition after moving to Toronto and skating a more physically demanding program.

Thanks for sharing- it's amazing to see Yuzuru's progress.

Yes, it really is.

Besides jumps, it shows that his stamina has been improved so much, and one of the reasons for that may be his improved skating skills. I remember he said once, "With improved skating skills, I would be able to keep my stamina to the end of the performance by avoiding energy loss." (Sorry, this is what I remember, and it might not be exact.)

Anyway, he could perform the whole LP without a big failure to the end even at the Nationals when he was not in the best condition just before the surgery.

He now seems to have a confidence in his skating or trust on his skating, as Cricket coaches advised him in the beginning

You are right:yes:. I remember yuzu mentioned the relationship between his improvement in skating skills and preventing his energy loss.

And yes, cricket’s coaches have contributed to this achievement to a great deal. This is an interview of Tracy Wilson after Sochi http://311mi.tumblr.com/post/96411335613/yuzuru-can-improve-even-more-tracy-Wilson, which @Maria posted in the comment below. Tracy spoke about teaching him how to control his energy well.

"I had also taught him how to control his strength and energy. He has plenty of areas where he depletes large amounts of energy, so I had him skate along to the beat of the music to save up all the energy that he possibly can when performing and competing. During Sochi, he had probably demonstrated this kind of training. "

What is mind boggling is that he still has room for improvement. This is what his coach Tracy Wilson said of him after he won Worlds last year: "He is still an incomplete athlete, as he still has so much more to grow. I will teach him all of the skating skills to lay down a solid foundation, in addition to going into the smallest of details, such as how he rotates his wrists in order to improve the entire program altogether. In terms of his artistic skills, he has much more to learn in order to express his emotions and interpretation even more. He has an immense amount of talent, and as long as he’s directed towards the right direction, there’s no saying what he can do. When all of this has been accomplished, he’ll definitely become a skater that seems to be out of this world." (http://311mi.tumblr.com/post/96411335613/yuzuru-can-improve-even-more-tracy-Wilson, emphasis mine) So much for us then his fans to look forward to. :)

i´m often thinking about yuzuru´s private life. i mean, theoretically he could have a secret relationship somewhere...a girlfriend or boyfriend, whatever... it would help against loneliness:yes: i think he is very lonely:cry:

Hi sloveniangirl! As Bonesfan pointed out, GS Guidelines limit the discussion about a skater's private life to what has been publicly disclosed by the skater. Yuzuru has admitted feeling lonely while training in Canada because of the language barrier. I suppose anyone who is away from home for an extended period of time will experience loneliness. In any case, I think loneliness is part of the life of an elite athlete in a singles sport as one has to forego many social pursuits to concentrate on training. Fortunately, Yuzuru has a good training environment in TCCC where he has been welcomed like family, and he also has his mother as well as a Japanese support team with him in Canada. He also has made friends with his training mates Javier and Nam. But as Brian noted, Japan is and will always remain Yuzuru's "comfort zone," so I do not begrudge him (OK, maybe just a little ;)) all the ice shows he does with his skater friends in Japan. All in all, I think he is in a good place right now, with or without a romantic partner, so please don't worry about him too much. :)

Here's my latest artwork of Yuzu and Sarah. (who could resist such a cute photo?)
I've tried the Art Noveau style this time which was fun. (You may notice that I can't stick to any one style.)

Just like in a fairy tale. Thanks for sharing.

Just saw on tweeter that Yasunobu Matsuo the pianist/composer of "Requiem of Heaven and Earth" music also met Yuzuru during FaOI Kobe. More in this blog (Matsuo blog?). Is behind them Matsuo's bouquet to Yuzu with Pooh and balloons in the colour of Requiem costume ?

Thanks for the link. That stupendous bouquet with Pooh balloons galore and flowers does provide a splash of color behind the somberly clad Yuzuru and Yasunobu (I think I like his name). May I please ask our kind Japanese fans for a translation of what was said in the blog? Thanks in advance.

It's interesting to see diffrence in quad salchow from Hanyu in 2012 and in 2014

2012:
https://youtu.be/ucbmZDKrYSw?t=48

2014:
https://youtu.be/34e9NquOL-Y?t=99

Completely diffrent jump between 2012 and 2014

When his quad salchow was being described as a "choreographed fall," I never lost faith he will own that jump some day going by his experience with his triple axel and quad toe which also took a season or two to stabilize *from inclusion in his program. The thing about Yuzuru is he faces up to his weaknesses and what he thinks he needs (skating skills, quad salchow, third quad in the second half of the program) and stubbornly works at it until he owns it. Many, including myself, can learn from him.

So… Hi..

I decided to make a site for fun, and it happened to be about Yuzu!

When I was first a fan, I personally found it hard to find videos and documentaries about Yuzu and I felt bad asking people for link so I thought why not make a sort of “archive” site for this.

I’m not a professional web designer and the site is not as organized (I still need to add A LOT of stuff, such as mobile…) as I would like it, but I hope it can help someone :). The site is in its first stages (I just published it…) so there is not that much content, nothing new you guys probably don't know…yet

Comments of improvements is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Disclaimer: Absolutely NONE of the content such as videos and photos are my own, I state credit to owner.

I'd put the menu options right on the front page (not just in the upper bar) where it is easiest to see.

Amazing! :cheer: I was looking forward to your site since you commented about it about a few weeks ago. And the function which is bolded is helpful (I have the same feelings!). It’s a professional job. The site images are wonderful. Can I do a weekly vote?

Hello all. Here is my 4th and final review of Fantasy on Ice 2015. This one is a review of the Kobe show that was last weekend. I went to the 2nd showing. I would love some feedback on the review. I think I am rambling, talking too much. But there is so much more I want to say! LOL! Anyway, as you know, the audience cannot take pictures, but I've included a few press shots and as soon as video is up of the performances, I will put links in the show notes.

Thanks in advance for watching! :)
