Adelina Sotnikova

She just skated her Latin program just a few minutes ago during the live show. Popped her flip, landed 3t and 2a, no Charlotte. Program looking great, over much too soon

This is the video. Not great quality but still.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhB0qE8jsyM&feature=youtu.be
The girls who saw her on the practice said she was always very solid in her jumps. Could be that the ice surface here is smaller and the lights don't help for the jumps.

Better than nothing :cheer: Well I heard the ice surface in Taiwan was bad, plus the airlines lost her skates, lol. I'm not too worried about the jumps, I'll wait until Japan Open to start panicking :hopelessness:

Isn't this the video from a couple of days ago? She looks smooth, I like that!
I also think that the lighting causes the problems with her jumps. I remember Elizaveta also had problems with her landings in one of those shows.

Yeah it is. She changed her jump layout from the one shown today.

I'm not worried either. That program looked great, her general skating, spins etc were fabulous, and she still has two or three months to get her jumps back in shape... :-D

Best thing about this program, I totally forgot about the jumps when her music changed and her steps kicked in. She can still get the crowd going!!!

This is for you Adelina! I can't wait the next season! The JO will be very exciting, but I think good decision to compete there. The Japanese audience is so great they support everybody. Their support will help Adelina.

Olympic champion in figure skating Sotnikova perform at the tournament in Japan

"The decision on the participation of Adeline tournament in Japan has been made today, and she reacted very seriously to the task at hand, - said Buyanova. - The competition will be for it is not just the first of the season, and the first after a break due to injury. While we can not expect from her some sverhelementov, and me as a coach, it is absolutely not afraid. We need to start, it is necessary to create a reserve, and to strive for more. I'm sure - the October launch will be for Adeline pleasant start, because to return after the break, very hard, and it must make difficult step. "

Buyanova confident that the support of the Japanese fans, psychologically Sotnikova will benefit. "I admire the Japanese fans - she said. - Adeline often happens in this country and knows how to apply it to all skaters. This competition will help her smoothly enter into the season. Now it is a lot of work. At the training camp in Italy, where we returned recently, it has been a real driving force for the entire group. I admire how it works, how to relate to their work. I sincerely wish her to a burning spirit in it constantly, despite the burden of responsibility. "

So much to catch up on. Loving the new program.

I am not worried about things until the official 1st competition of the season. Right now everything is still early. She is getting back into shape and performing etc.

Nice that she will be at Japan Open, the Japanese crowd are always supportive of athletes. It would be nice for her self-esteem and hopefully help ease any pressure she will be feeling.

do you have a link to the video?

oh goodness, what happened to her flip!?!? is this a sign that she has a good lutz now?:laugh:

No, it WAS NOT a good attempt of a lutz  her edge travel from Moscow to Siberia and back again  She tried, bless her heart

I have a live broadcast link http://www.shiting5.com/tv/btv6.html it's current to your timezone. The show started 19 hrs ago (Friday, 7am Washington DC time) so I rewind the video back to 7:00hrs. Adelina Latin skate was at ~8:05 am my time. So whatever that is in your time zone just rewind it (about 18 hrs back) and you should see it. She follows Lambiel.

Rewatched the Beijing Latin program and it wasn't a flip. Oh hun, your edge

Are you sure it was supposed to be a Lutz? I really can't tell. Her edge tends to be unsteady going into the 3F, going from inside to shallow outside and then inside again anyway (a lot of skaters are doing that I think). She usually holds the outside edge a little longer while going into the 3Lz I guess - but it's hard to tell given the quality of the video. It also looked to me as if she was slowing down because she ran out of room, and that might have been why she popped the jump. It was a little weird overall.

It looked like she was trying for it. Lol Doesn't really matter anyway.
