Oh have been waiting for news of her programs for so long. :drama: Thank you for the update.

So it seems in the LP at least, she and Yuzuru will again have similar programs ('very Japanese" sound track from a movie) though I doubt hers will also be from "Onmyoji." I certainly hope not especially since you have pointed out that Kanako greatly resembles a star-crossed character in that movie.

Looking forward to seeing her in the video broadcasts of "The Ice." Missed her.

I miss her so much. The ICE will take place very soon and hopefully we will have some videos of her performance. As for her new programs, I really look forward to it - something very Japanese...

Me too. With Yuzuru doing "SEIMEI," Mao "Madame Butterfly," and Kanako still unannounced "very Japanese" programs, TJ seems to be making up for the POTO overload last season.

Seriously, I can imagine Kanako looking very beautiful in a Japanese inspired skating costume. But more than that I wish her great programs that will show both her tenderness and fierceness.

Yuka Nagai is also doing Madame Butterfly and there is another female skater who tweeted that she had Nichibu (Japanese dance) lessons that'll help her with her SP. TJ skaters are trying to be unique, but are ending up with the same theme again! :laugh2:

Well, Madame butterfly, although a Japanese character, is from an Italian opera. So not so Japanese I feel. At least western audience are familiar with the story. I hope kana will do something that is absolutely unique.

That's true. Shogun and The Last Samurai are also English/American movies too so Studio Ghibli movies are the only really Japanese movies that we've probably seen in recent years (and Onmyoji).


ETA: Correcting myself. Sota skated to "Tenchijin" in the 2013-2014 season. There are probably many others too.

As someone who have watched the movie, I Hope Kanako won't use Onmyoji music because the character that looks like her was a jealous woman turning into a demon.

I think anime music can be a better choice. Or game music. Final fantasy X?? What about that?

Well in that case she must be the Tom Cruise character... which would explain the hair. She was afterall the phantom at last year's POTO.
