I love the correction of photos and works! You’ve added to them! Weekly poll is my fun. I’m glad if I can confirm the result of the previous poll easily.:)

@SuzyQ, I also don’t have data box. I usually look up online. I put some words in searching box along with my memory. Surprisingly, in most cases, I can reach what I want. That’s because his information have a certain access numbers:laugh:.

Ill try find a way to put previous poll results on the site :) in the mean time, if you were wondering the results:

Yuzuru's Signature Move?
1st. 3A
2nd. Ina Bauer
3rd. Hydroblading
4th. Biellmann Spin

I was sooo tempted to put the A-spin (aka. Butt spin) but thought otherwise :laugh2:

Thank you!
I voted for Hydroblading. It took third place! :yay:

A-spin really makes his long legs look good. I can’t resist it.

Hi, I completed my report about Nagaoka Ice Show. It's too late...and as always it is subjective. If you have any interest..

Nagaoka Ice show Report
July 11, 2015 on Saturday night

1. SEIMEI
(Jumps)
4S popped into 2S. The moment he landed, he shook his head little and made a face.
4T gorgeous.
3F good. The edge was correctly inside on landing.
4T 2T with tano! great
3A 3T as usual great

(Performance)
First of all, his performance was perfectly wonderful. The audience stood up and applauded with enthusiasm. Nevertheless, yuzu was apparently unsatisfied (since he failed 4S…). He skated off pointing the ice for confirmation more carefully than usual.

There was no denying yuzu was considerably exhausted… But his movement itself was powerful and fast. He floated on the ice with his solid edges.

The remarkable progress I noticed compared with Kanazawa where I’d seen him live two weeks before was that he completely succeeded in creating his “Onmyoji” world, which was something supernatural and divine. He comfortably harmonized with music. I could easily imagine this program would cause a huge enthusiasm at every competition.

One of fascinating elements was hydro. In the hydro, he initially bends down his head little, then lifts it up in front of judge side shifting up his eyesight towards judges to appeal. It was thriving. It’s sure he will kill some judges with his eyes this season! Of course, Ina bauer got the crowd excited and made a climax.

Technics overall were great. Especially the spin combination at the last part was excellent. He is improving technically and antically day by day. I could understand it well.

And just another thing, SEIMEI may need a consistency more than previous programs. I feel it has a delicate or fragile nature. It may partly because the music itself doesn’t have so much impact (Of course, a piece of SEIMEI is strong, but it is not so dramatic as his previous ones). Further, it lacks a clear story. For example, at the middle part of the tune of Japanese flute before 3A3T combination, that mysterious atmosphere was my favorite. But if he failed 3A3T, the program would easily collapse with a sigh. In my view, SEIMEI has a kind of vulnerability.

In that sesne, it was reasonable he decided to do FP not SP although both programs had been completed. It was just crazy layout. He tried to pack 3 quad, 2 combinations with 3A or 4T into no more than 3 minutes or so. But he was persistent and made it. The phenomenal performance at Nagaoka showed his achievement of this summer shows.

That day, he couldn’t do 4lo well, but last he landed 4S.

2. Requiem

Honestly, I didn’t remember his jumps well. He stepped out in one of them, but it had no influence on the performance at all.

If I say my impression in one word, it is “sharp”. I’d never seen such a hard movements of him. I saw “hana-ha-saku” live at NHK cup last year. The theme of Requiem, Disaster, is the same as “hana-ha-saku”, but the performance was totally different. At Requiem, he seemed to explode his dark emotions inside himself. Deep sorrow and anguish were filled.

Nevertheless, his performance was amazingly beautiful. Even now, I can vividly remember it. Every moment was beautiful and every moment was painful.

He was like a boy at the age of 16 or 17 although he should have got matured and manly. He was looking up high over and over again during performance. What was he feeling? His eyes were glittering. I can’t forget those eyes. I didn’t know what a strong power his eyes had. He might have cried inside his heart.

Spins and hydro were more supreme. The choreography suited his sensitive expressions, I suppose.

Finally, his Requiem at that night is one of great works of art in my life. That is certain.

My report ends here.
Thank you for reading.

thanks for the amazing report once again hamaguri! i think he has the ability to put delicacy between the sharp movements, i said it already but i just love his hands at Requiem

Thanks Hamaguri for this report ! I loved read it !

Anyone knows from which program these photos were taken #1 , #2?

From this one It's new...^^

Being French too (and having taking Japanese course as well), I confirm what ficelle said.^^ As for me, sometimes, when I try to speak Japanese too fast, I end up mispronouncing the "R" letter lol! And yes Candeloro is different from French to Japanese not only because of the "R", but also for the "AN" which is a sound itself in French that is very different from "A"+"N" and from "KY+YA+N" association in Japanese. I hope what I said make sense, lol. :p

Japan is very popular in France. Though many love it mainly for the anime/manga and the food (there's quite a share of J-Pop fans here too), it's very easy to find travel agencies that propose trips to Japan. The only thing I regret is that I fail to find proposed trips to Tohoku since 2011...

Your explanation was perfect !
If you need tips for a travel in Tôhoku, you can ask me : I spend my year in Japan in Tôhoku :)...the region is really beautifull, it's a shame no travel agencies offer trip anymore because of the disaster! !

I'll have to watch the show, didn't have much time to lately. It looks fun!^^

Thanks!
Oh, so you've been there for your year abroad? That's awesome! I do plan on going there on my own someday, but I need to plan everything, especially since money will be the biggest issue. I wish it wasn't so expensive to go to Japan... I mean, I know a few ways to get plane tickets not too expensive but everything else, plus so many places I wanna go to... Oh well, I'll find a way. But I'll remember to ask you for a few tips on going around and places to see.^^

Wow! We were there for the same show. Cool. Thank you so much Hamaguri for this detailed report of SEIMEI and REQUIEM. I completely agree about the contrast in style between HANA HA SAKU and REQUIEM despite being related thematically. Anyway, very well written. Thank you again! :cheer:

Thank you for your explanation (Oh, you also speak Japanese! ). I am a huge fan of French movies, having watched a lot from old to new. That’s partly because I love the sound of French language. It’s really beautiful to listen to! If I have a chance to hear Candeloro pronounced by a French, I’m sure to pay the attention to!:)

I am glad we have many French visitors for sightseeing here in Japan. French art is well known to us, so I often go to museum to see. Of course, those who are involved in manga or anime have been influenced by French art in some ways, I suppose. It’s a pity Tohoku trip is avoided now, but times will change as it goes by! (of course, we Japanese shall tackle Fukushima program ) I hope so.

Yes France is very famous for their art and food, not only in Japan though….and I have heard about Japonisme that is the influence of Japanese art, fashion and aesthetics on Western culture, especially in France, so no wonder why many French people being knowledgeable about Japanese culture from the past to the present, now it’s anime, manga and food etc…
It’s interesting to see that Western and Eastern culture (as we know, India and China are also well known as influential countries) have been influenced each other indeed.

By the way I am just curious how many non-Japanese fans in this thread can speak and understand Japanese? I guess at least 3 or 4...or 5?

it's a ladies magazine that tends to post sensationalist columns.

Sensational like Yuzu riding a penguin?

Are these magazines popular and do people take them seriously or is it like the US's tabloids which are mostly for laughs?
