Count me in for wanting to see another red costume! :agree: I think a deep red would suit him really well, like the turtleneck he got from Ghana chocolate. But my mom disagrees and thinks Asians look like tomatoes and eggs (it's a Chinese dish) when they wear red

Loolll tomatoes and eggs. Sometimes i wonder what hasn't he been compared to yet. I agree, red color suits him well. And i'd like to see him wearing red in a show.

The Chinese dish of tomatoes and eggs.. If he brings red (yeah, among red color variations, the deep red like that photo would be best), I think the music will be Latin or so.!

If he does go with red and Latin music then we'll be up for an ice melting show i guess.

I wonder how many toys they manage to sell . That was one of the lovely K&Cs...Team Japan + hugs + Phantom unmasked + the Reed's puppets

Polite young man

Thanx alia for the links. I love the vid. when he goes up the escalator, his face is like: 'ohh i'm soo bored' in one second and in the other 'i'm the little bowl full of smiles'. He's soo cute.

Believe or not, this photo was taken at a soccer game at Sapporo Dome, maybe Consadole Sapporo vs Ehime FC.

Ippei-kun (frog puppet) is a mascot of Ehime FC.

The Team Japan photos are used for sales promotion of Ippei-kun :laugh2:

I have no idea why Ippei-kun had bursted into K&C of WTT in any way, although it's very cute :agree:

EDIT: Oh, Ippei-kun (Ehime FC) might be boasting that he was at WTT !
I didn't notice that

Thank you for the info SuzyQ because I was wondering which event this was at

I'm not too fond of red costum for Yuzuru :/ (I'm the only one maybe ? )

And between, the Facebook page and Twitter account of GP Final Barcelona announced today that the ticket sale will open 29th July (12h CET) :cheer:

It may depends on the costume, I don't think he has had a real red one. I don't count the Zigeunerweisen one, it has more variant of red/salmon than being really red.

I'll try to get a ticket only if Yuzuru is not going to Finlandia... well, it is risky coz there might not be any ticket anymore by the time his participation is confirmed or not, but I'll try anyway, lol!

Is there still no news if Yuzuru will go to Finladia? I think he won´t go, and I almost wish he doesn´t go. I wish he has the most time he can to get ready for the new season. Seimei is very difficult and we still don´t know what Jeffrey prepared for him for the short.

Finlandia Trophy is a great opportunity for him to test his new programs and try out new lay out, you know. He still has plenty of time after the competition. Finlandia has always been his tradition and I personally think he will come if he can.

I agree. It's best to try out the programs in competition at a small event with a not-so-tough field than to risk it at The GP Circuit. He'll know what changes can or should be done for the programs and he'll have them more prepared for SC, where the competition will definitely be tough. I would think he'll go, I don't think he liked skipping it out because of his back injury last season.

He has said before that he loved to compete there (and Brian did say it was very hard to make him withdraw last year), so if he has a chance to go, I'm pretty sure he will. And as you said to try out the programs before going to the GP circuits is a very thing to do and will help him getting ready more. And lot of senior skaters do participate to those Challenge competitions for this reason too.
And Skate Canada will be on October 30th, while Filandia Trophy is from 9-11th October. That can be enough time to rest and train between the two competitions. :)

I agree with you. :)

The official announcement about the entry of Filandia Trophy has not yet done, although we are waiting these days... The rumor says it has something to do with that of JO (Men’s entry is not yet revealed.)… Anyway, there will be before long. ;)

I'm late for the vote on the Yuzuru but red costume might be nice but it's a color that needs to be careful when using

Yuzuru is dark and would be a lovely contrast ..gente'm anxious to know all ...::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Although I love Japan Open, i hope he doesn't compete there, its only for LP and I want to see his SP so bad!

Yes, of course. If he should entry into JO, I would groan...:hopelessness: But I think we don't have to worry about it. Yuzu will go to Finlandia.

Yuzu's dark?
I love the idea too, his skin would make a darker shade of red, or perhaps even bright red look awesome! And won't it be interesting to see what yuzu can do with red?

As always thanks @alia. I like your nice sense about the titles of images!

Another toy art. There’s yuzu in team Japan suit at the down right. Isn’t it a bit unusual?

Good old days

Behind the Mask might be good, but, in that case, Michael Jackson's version may be better

I'm afraid it's getting away from "lyrical" piano sound of Ryuichi Sakamoto for figure skating again

 indeed.
yea, MJ covered ver. may be better to skate, but the “Behind the mask”, if anything, should have used for his last season’s EX hehe.
and, though it’s an off topic, do you know Haruomi Hosono, one of the member from YMO, his grandfather was a survivor of The Titanic.

It is hard to think that he doesn’t participate in both Finlandia and Japan open so that if he doesn’t participate in Finlandia Trophy it could kind of automatically mean that he will go to JO? (my very selfish hope  )
Although I think that he would go to Finlandia.

Yes, I have heard about that. He was misunderstood for a long time that he had fled without caring others, but he never made any excuse. Later, it was found out as just a misunderstanding. I felt Bushido, samurai spirit in him.

By the way, sorry, an off topic again.

4Lt + 3T by Boyang Jin. I wanted to see this as Ms. Okamoto, ISU referee said in a TV program before that she had seen it in a practice.

If he could improve his PCS in the coming 3 years, and also the consistency, I think he has a potential to make a dark horse for the Olympic podium, one of Yuzuru's rivals.

Video of Boyang is very old and has been shared before. If you notice the date.

I wish I remembered where, but I read last month that Yuzu did not plan to go to Japan Open (only Javi was).
So fingers crossed! I want to see Yuzu and Misha (and Sergei) at Finlandia. Though Yuzu first. 😁❤️

The deadline for entries to Finlandia Trophy is not until September 8th, so the official list won't come out until after that.

I guess the only way to know if Hanyu is going or not, before 8th Sept, is if JSF or Yuzuru himself announces it.
Or a leak from ISU/Finlandia (unlikely!)

I don't think it's that "risky" to wait. Of course, there will be an initial rush for tickets, for both GPF and Finlandia... but I doubt either will be a sellout. At least not that soon. And both venues are well laid out and not "huge", so there is good visibility even if you get a seat near the back.

-------

While it's true that Hanyu seems to favour Finlandia, I wonder if Patrick Chan's participation will make Japan Open more of a possibility.

Recall the Olympic season, where I believe he deliberately competed at the same GP events as Chan. That year Chan won both those GP events convincingly... but at their 3rd meeting Hanyu won the GPF, and then later the Olympics too...

This year he is going to Skate Canada and will face Chan there. I suspect he would have gone to TEB to face him again - but he is "obliged" to go to NHK instead.

Japan Open would give him a chance to compete against Chan twice instead of once, before the GPF. (I'm assuming they will both make it the GPF). Perhaps repeating the strategy from before, appeals to him?

Just a thought.

And while I'm thinking about it... imagine Hanyu, Chan, and Fernandez at the GPF. What an EPIC prospect that is, plus whoever else makes it to the final...!
