2015 Glacier Falls Summer Classic, July 30-Aug. 2, Anaheim, CA

Brendan: I think he hit four quads! 4T-2T clean, 4S hand, 4T hand second half. Was really quite impressive. Music is OneRepublic Secrets (medley of multiple versions). I might have missed it, but I don't think I saw any 3Lz or 3F, which was interesting.
.

*excited happy squeaking*

Oh, I would just love for him to really make a splash at Skate America!

Haha I definitely passed by him several times during the weekend, too... he is quite the head turner, as well. :P.
And yes, karne, who would think that in 2015 we would be talking about an Australian man having possibly more consistent quad jumps than the American men?!?! You must be tickled! ^_^

Well, we had the Team Australia ladies turning heads last year, this is the turn of the men! I have seen him land them before, but consistency has been an issue in the past as well...I hope a three-quad long means that he's got it all together! ^__^

Well it's a massive improvement from PotO and the Princess Programs. I really wish she would skate to Duke Ellington. There's a piece that was used in the movie Turning Point I think could be very effective for her. She's using her arms much more effectively now to convey musical nuances, but some of the positions she hits to highlight a crescendo in the music are just downright strange. Well, early days, and really, a massive improvement from the last two Frank long programs. Girl is feisty--nice she gets a program that really lets her show it.

The music really suits Gracie! I can see a firebird in her skating.
But the music cuts are almost the same as Pogorilaya did:
the beginning, the climax and the end.
I mean why couldn't they take some other pieces and put it together a bit differently??

Gracie's free really is a fast improvement, she really seems to feel it (the short does nothing for me). The dress is great, this could become one of my all time favourite Firebird programs. I hope we'll get to see a better quality version of the free soon (EDIT: I found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAoGDvflZhk. Not really that much better, but you see how pretty that dress is. ). I like that she does that little finger flapping when she takes her bow, I guess she really likes this program.

Even though everyone's program is a little undercooked, but I think based on what I have seen, Gracie's FS has the biggest potential upcoming season (not seen other ladies FS yet). There are still obvious issues that she can improve, like she need to pay more attention the first half arm (contrast of softness and sharpness) movements (more controlled and graceful) to make the second half look more fiery and energized, make sure specific choreography movement /poses to hit the beat better to give bigger impact and impression (think of the big photo money shot you want to leave in the judge's head and in the press later). Improve stamina in the second half, need to have that wow factor, mad 100m dash to the end with Usain Bolt like finish hitting the final mark. Glad she skated less closer to the board, this could good her best program yet. TG!!!! Finally something looks more better matched. Remember to appear supernatural, unleash fiery spirit, #nomoreiceprincess. Congrats on breaking 200! I knew she can do it!

I find Polina's SP a rather generic and safe sorry to say, I don't know.... it feels more like watching a Blackswan having a stroll under twilight more than what I though the gentle breeze and poignancy moonlight sonata is describing. Better than Tinkerbell? May be... I am curious about her 'Gone with the wind' now. Didn't realise she'd literally be gone with the wind.. and failed to capitalize on the 70+. I remain unconvinced on the Edmund Wagon, although good luck to her.

Good for Hicks trying out the 3A, first one this season I believe! Hope there's more... Mariah looks good for the season, could it be the season she finally make it?

Sorry to hear about Karen... wonder what happened :( Please nomore injuries :(

Looks like Nathan Chen is the future of US figure skating, Olympics in Beijing 2022! Nice to know Jason's FS has got such a good reception, can't wait for the clips.

Jason's SP uhh.... just the same old Juniorish Jason program that I didn't like much last season (with poorer costumes) that has been designed to mask his flaws, and oversell his strength. Thought he'd grew out of that phase, but I guess it wouldn't be Jason Brown program without the same old easy larry schmoozy shtick! Which sadly fell apart along with the rest of his jumps this time around. May be he will surprise us later, it is better to get over the kinks as early as possible and this is the right time for it.

The dress looks nice. A good firebird dress finally.

OMG Jason and his on going costume issues :laugh2: The SP already made me :rolleye: with its utter unoriginality but this FS why is he dressed like a male version of Alissa Czisny? Get rid of the arm blouse, the whole program can look better with out it.

He is still not 'listening and feeling' to the music ... sigh! Oh well it is early in the season, he had similar issues with his FS last year, may be it will improve as time it goes by, because it still has amazing potentials if he can connect the dots.

Huh? I like this costume. The only thing I would change is to make the sash attached properly to the top, maybe as part of it. I'm actually a little terrified that one day he'll reach back to grab his blade or leg and accidentally stick his arm through the sash.

I think that Brown´s body type is not easy to make a costume for (a short guy with wide shoulders and ponytail which make his neck look shorter than it may be). About his fs: Combined with the sloooow music this program showcases his lack of skating speed really well.

I agree with the speed. He must work more on gaining much more speed, because he looks quite slow comapred to Chan or Hanyu and he must show judges that power to be counted more seriously.
I hope that this quad will be more ready at GP events

I liked Jason's previous 2 LP a lot. this season when this LP first came out, I thought it was a brilliant idea to use this music, not easy to interpret at all. The choreo showed some really nice/creative poses and positions,it is packed with moves only Jason can done it right with his exceptional flexibility and body type. But it lacked connection/purpose to the music (I think Jason has great musicality though), And all parts does not flow together effectively to create something magical for now(it feels like transitions for show how perfectly I can do this move). Therefore, a little flat. His spiral is very well done and suits that part of music well. I hope Jason can find that connection to music as this program progresses.
