True but those are closed to public skates....right??? Last year the open skates were in September.

Meaning no videos for another month.

Open skates are Sept 12/13 but it's in Sochi so I don't know about videos. Maybe someone will tape them.

Juniors are closed.

I clearly remember watching some of the senior programs already in middle August in past years... Have things changed?

Last season was in september. In August there was the closed test skates.

Any news? Did anyone manage to sneak in, by any chance? Or at least a link to photoes?

Are they not having closed skates this year? Why does there seem to be a change this year?

Should be the same as last year. Closed skates in August and open skates in September. Last year we got pictures and limited reports from the closed skates.

That was during the Olympic season. I guess they wanted to make absolutely sure everybody was prepared for the home OG :). Last year it was in September. Apparently, this year will be similar to last year. But personally I'm not disappointed: the later we wait, the better shape most skaters will be able to attain. I think mid-August is still too early for many skaters. That's why I didn't watch the videos from that competition in the US - Anaheim? - I'll wait a bit longer, till the B competitions, to start watching. Russian test skates this year seem to be at about that time, which feels right to me :).

Mihsersh says that Fedichkina/Sotskova did very well. On the others he will remain silent not because they did bad but because it is a closed skate and he doesn't know what the skaters/coaches are comfortable with him saying:)

Proklova was in attendance watching.

Thanks
Fedichkina is my favourite among the young Russian girls.

Where is Kayumova? I just realised that she is not there. And who is coaching her now? She left Goncharenko, didn't she?

From her IG comments 2 weeks ago:
"chloexling: which jgp do you have this year?^-^
alsu_kayumova: @chloexling I'm not going"

On fskate, Goncharenko is listed as a "former coach". No new coach is listed.
