"I’ve decided that I shall turn pro after I get Gold at Shochi and Pyeongchan since my childhood. I want to avoid turning pro after losing my best fit. I definitely desire to end (my competitor life) with GOLD”
He seemed to emphasize the title at Pyeongchan...

Wow, the thread suddenly grew 5 pages! I find it so amazing how excited we all get over every bit of news Anyways, I'm actually quite happy with him re-using Chopin, especially because he has yet to execute it to its potential. However, I am a little confused about all the previous comments about rhythm and whatnot? Was there any explanation of what that was all about? Because it sounded for sure like he had a new program choreographed by Jeff.

Here is my guess. After practicing SEIMEI numerous times in ice shows (maybe in the recent training too), he realized that he needs more time to practice SEIMEI, so he decided to re-use the old SP to give himself more time to focus on the FP. He probably had a new SP choreographed, but will probably use it in the following season instead.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. If that's the case, then I guess we'll have a great Jeff SP next season as well, so yay!

As always, your theory sounds just about right. Well, SEIMEI is really a challenging program.

Sounds like Yuzuru alright the best of luck to him so he may achieve his goal!
And yeah, it's no news his resolve of retiring after the Olympics. Though it's the most logical decision and he really couldn't end his career on a higher note, it's still painful to hear him say it

I understand his wish to keep Chopin, he never skated it clean and may want to have some "revenge" over it. We'll see what happens next.

However I'm very disappointed he's not doing Finlandia, I was so looking foward to it... But I can understand his wish to take it easy and not wanting to travel much before SC. I'll see if I can go to Autumn Classic. But it will probably be much more expensive to travel there...

We predicted and desired Finland… It’s sad… I didn’t have a slightest idea about Autumn classic at Canada.. Nam and yuzu are there, so it’s good for Brian to watch them..
GPF Barcelona is the only competition he plans to go in Europe this season…

I knew that Nam was going to AC, so at least I'm happy that both him and Brian will be there with Yuzu... But yes what a shame for Finlandia. But in term of health it IS a wise choice for this year, after last season...
I hope the AC will not be too inconveniant for people going there. The fact that tickets are not sold online is kind of worrying...

Unfortunately yes, Barcelona is the only one, and I don't think I'll go there since GPF will likely be in France next year if it IS official (we have no big confirmation yet, but I really hope it is true).

I'm so happy that he kept Chopin SP. I love it and I want to see it clean. Maybe this season the SP will be like PW in the second season

As everyone I'm suprised...but indeed, in terms of strategy it's very wise imo, considering how challenging is SEIMEI. :thumbsup:
And at least we will see the original layout of Chopin ! I'm expecting a change in the costum color, as for PW.

I love his state of mind. It's a bid sad to heard he will retire after Pyeongchan (and everytime he says it with a lot of determination), but it's totally him^^
I wish he will get this gold olympic medal with perfect SP and FP


Anyway, will Canada Autumn Classic be broadcast on some local channel/ISU streaming ? I usually don't watch it so I don't know ^^"

i am more sad than disappointed that we wont see new SP but i love chopin so i will forget about sadness soon and way to troll us all by saying he has new SP (competing with Mishin? )
about broadcasting, if i remember right, they were livestreaming from this DM channel last year and there were videos as well

I was just looking back at all his schedules since season 2013-2014 till now, the boy has not have a good proper rest and recharge. There is only one Yuzu and there are thousands of us who all have varying expectation of him and his team. He could not possibly satisfy everyone of us

If this strategy will get him to regain the condition he was in before the injury/surgery last season I'm all for it (he was much better in last Aug Toronto training video). I just want him to be healthy and do what he believes the best for him that make him happy and satisfied.

On one hand I'm a little disappointed that we will not see new SP, on another Chopin is a great programme - it will be great to see it live in GPF (well I hope so). On one hand it also will be great to see this programme in it's original layout on another I will be worring about combo again

I think that doing the SP again, one he knows well and is comfortable with already, will enable him to put even more into the new FS. I've always considered the SP to get you into contention and then the FS is where you make your move. Now his training can be concentrated on bringing us the perfect free skate. I'd say it's a smart move that may bring great moments to him and his fans.

Exactly what I was thinking.

And furthermore, he can polish the Chopin program over another season, the same way he did with Parisienne Walkways... and maybe he'll break the SP world record with it as well, the same way he did with PW... :-D

I'm a little surprised about Autumn Classic. I figured if he started his season earlier than the Grand Prix, he'd choose a Challenger-series competition - if only for the world standing points. But I guess at his level the extra points don't really matter, and staying in Canada makes sense - less travel, training is less disrupted and less pressured, so less chance of injury etc etc.

PS. I'll still go to Finlandia regardless... :-D Love that competition!

PPS. There may be a rush for the remaining Grand Prix Final tickets (as well as Autumn Classic). Fans who were holding off GPF in case of Finlandia... might not hold off any longer...!
