Skaters on Team Japan

thank you all for updates!!
any news about Asian Trophy? i checked the results page but i guess they didnt update it today yet? or i am miscalculating time difference :slink:

And Japanese media always focuses too much on 3A (and Mao...) about wakaba, I always feel that way.. It’s really really a big frustration.. Japanese media do the similar thing with Liza (In every interview they asked her about 3A and Mao. Liza seems to be tired of the question.)

It does get a bit tiresome :sarcasm: Poor Liza. I feel like apologizing to her every time she is interviewed.

I think they updated the page after all the competitions were over for the day yesterday. They should be in the midst of Junior Men's SP right now.
Mitsuki Sumoto got 53.51 according to tweets.

And apparently Moa Iwano is in 3rd with 36.22 and Rika Kihira is in 8th with 29.57 for Advanced Novice Ladies.

Thanks mikaboo, just soon, Advanced Junior Ladies begins. Yuna (9/21), Marin (10/21).

good luck ladies :cheer: (and other skaters as well)

Edit: just read your twitter report hamaguri, not great start but they can come back stronger! :cheer:

Cathy Reed talks about her days, during her competitive career and post her retirement: "Career filled with glories and hardships that I feel very proud of" http://sports.yahoo.co.jp/column/detail/201508050007-spnavi?p=1

A great read, indeed. Very interesting to know how Cathy as a choreographer and skating coach has started working with Team Mie Hamada (coach of Satoko, Chris' new partner Kana Muramoto when she was still a sinlge skater and Yukina Ota, to name a few).

Good luck to Cathy as she is now in the new chapter of her life! :cheer::cheer:

she seems like really lovely person, i am sure she will be great addition to the team!
btw, i didnt notice my lovely Riona will compete at Asian Trophy too! i hope we will see videos :cheer:

senior ladies and man SP scores are up!
not a good day for Riona (and Kaori :hopelessness:), hopefully it will be better tomorrow :cheer: now cant wait for juniors :yay:

I was looking at those protocols an hour ago and had a feeling that either 1) everyone had a bad skate (and I mean everyone, not just TJ) and 2) the judges are incredibly harsh on this one. (Or 3) both 1 and 2)

But I hope everyone does better on his/her Free programs!

(And I am still kind of banging my head against the wall for Keiji for popping what looked like a planned 4S.)

^ The scores are indeed odd. And I was really surprised to see Yuna get an "e" call (in the junior ladies SP). She's never had any tendency to flutz. I hope this is just a fluke call...

Yuna's Aoki lutz's was ! the last time I saw her in ice show (DOI). So not surprise here.

I wasn't looking closely at her edges in the show, so you might be right. Still, it's rather odd to see a skater start flutzing after having strong edges in the previous seasons. I hope it's not a sign of some injury (AKA Oda in the seasons when he hurt his left leg).

I think her lutz was still ! but the judges were harsh. Yuna glided into the lutz on outside edge, but right before the take off it became flat, that's what I remember at DOI.

only final group left for Junior ladies :cheer: good luck ladies :yay:
